7 The organic matter is decomposed in a number of steps in acollaboration between several different types of microorganisms. Theefficiency of the BIOGAS production depends on how suitable the conditionsare for the microorganisms. To initiate a BIOGAS process, sludge containingthe bacteria for starting the process is inoculated from an existing BIOGAS process divided into a number of stages that take place duringdigestion.
