The profile of the A-LOK X-CELis based onthe traditional A-LOK connector, but withenhanced features to improve perfor-mance. One example of this is the patented water pocket . This unique design utilizesthe untapped pressure of ground water toexert a clamping force about the connectorand pipe allowing the connector to operatein deeper installations.

4 This design hasbeen proven in tests beyond 15 psi ofhydrostatic water pressure and provides45% more rubber contact with the pipe,allowing greater pipe deflection to beachieved. PART 2 - MATERIALThe standard rubber connector is moldedor extruded from compounds formulated forwastewater applications and engineered toconform with the requirements of of ASTM C-923. Alternative com-pounds are available upon special 3 - ADVANTAGESThe A-LOK X-CEL Connectorfunctions onpure compression, making field installationquick and easy. Just clean and lubricate theconnector and pipe, center the pipe in theconnector and insert.

5 This rapid installationpermits immediate backfilling, enhancingproject safety, and overcomes the normalproblems encountered with water, runningsand and other unstable trench A-LOK X-CELwith its enhanced profilegiving the connector 45% greater rubbercontact with the pipe. This allows the pipeto be deflected in excess of 10 of omni-directional deflection while still maintaininga watertight seal. These enhancementsimprove the connector s ability to compen-sate for shear due to settlement or larger diameter pipe when size pro-hibits a gasket from being installed in a flatplane, an A-LOK X-CEL Connectorcan beconfigured to be cast in a curve with theconnector staying perpendicular to the center line of the pipe.
