1 BBIT Raychem heat - shrinkable busbar insulation tubingVoltage class 36 kV, Application 11-125 mmEnergy DivisionProduct descriptionBBIT is a thick wall, heat -shrinkabletubing which provides insulationenhancement and protection againstflashover and accidentally induceddischarge. Particularly useful in con fined spaces, BBIT tubing can beused on both circular and rectangularcopper or aluminium busbars. On application of heat the tubingshrinks snugly over the busbar profileensuring that the required minimumwall thickness is obtained. BBIT tubingcan be installed easily during largescale production using an oven or inthe field using a gas torch or hot tubing is manufactured from anon-halogen based polymer which hasexcellent performance in high voltageenvironments and reduces the noxiousand corrosive effects in fire use of BBIT tubing allows equipment designers the freedom toreduce air spacing between busbars,such as in the manufacture of switch-gear cabinets where space is at a premium.
