Bingo - Career Choices

1 Occupation BINGOS hared by Christine Remmen and Karen AronowitzMiami Southridge High SchoolMiami, FLInstructionsObjective: To expose students to the myriad occupations (traditional and, more importantly, non-traditional) available to them with the proper education and/or training. To help students gain some awareness of the correct titles for certain occupations, making their Career research more student is provided with a Bingo card. Use the sample on page 2 or develop your students to write occupational titles in each of the boxes. They can work in groups to brainstorm possible job titles, but should work on their own to decide in which box to place the desired, allow students to use one box as a FREE space.

2 If a FREE space is not used, explain that nothing in the workplace is students have fi nished writing the occupational titles on their Bingo cards, read from a pre-selected list of occupations. Refer to the Dictionary of Occupational Titles and the Occupational Outlook Handbook, and add to students fi nd matches on their own Bingo cards for the job titles you read, have them mark through the box making sure you can still read the job title written until someone has Bingo (fi ve in a row).
