The original piston-engine Defender has seen service since the 1970s in Central Africa. In the 1980s and 90s a turbine version was introduced, which has seen service with, amongst many others, customers such as the UK Ministry of Defence and the Royal Oman Police. The latest version of the Defender comes from a similar pedigree, with its short field landing capability, durability, low purchase and operating costs and low maintenance.
