2 The Volvo EO-OPremium Plus quality standard is based on the API CJ-4 engine oil specification, but has additional performance require-ments essential to adequately protect the Volvo engines at the drain intervals specified. Pre-2010 engines also work betterwith the recommended engine oils. 4 The resultantbiodieselfuel blendsare then designatedas B2(for a 2% blend),B5 (for a 5% blend),B20 (for a 20% blend)and so D11, D13 and D16 enginesare certifiedto complywith EPA and Californiaemissionsstandardsbasedupon theuse of test fuels with specificationsestablishedby these , includingbiodiesel,that are not substantiallysimilarto the requiredtest fuels may adverselyaffect a result, Volvo does not warrantthe enginewill conformto applicableFederalor Californiaemis-sions limits when operatedon biodieselor other alternativefuels that are not substantiallysimilarto specifiedtest fuels usedfor enginewarrantycoversdefectsin materialand workmanshipon the part of the manufacturer. 5 ASTMS tandardsThe AmericanSocietyfor Testingand Materials(ASTM)standardD6751definesB100. Any B100 productused in the manu-factureof the blend intendedfor use in a Volvo vehiclemust conformto the ASTMD 6751 definesthe minimumacceptedvaluesfor the propertiesof petroleum-baseddiesel fuel. Any petrole-um-baseddiesel fuel used in a Volvo vehicle,either alone or when blendedwith B100 for the maximumapprovedconcentra-tion (up to B5), must meet the ASTMD975 NationalBiodieselAccreditationCommission conductsqualitycertificationand accreditationprogramsfor producersand marketersof B100 used in the approvedblend must be producedby a BQ-9000 AccreditedPro-ducer and the blend must be suppliedby a ,VHD, (8)AllRightsReservedStorageof BiodieselThe standardstorageand handlingproceduresused for petroleum-baseddiesel fuel apply to biodiesel(referencethe opera-tor's manualfor informationconcerningthe handlingand storingof diesel fuel).

6 Comparedto petroleum-baseddiesel fuel, bi-odieselfuel has lower oxidationstabilityand there are greaterconcernsfor water contaminationand storedin a clean,dry, dark materialsincludealuminum,steel, flu-orinatedpolyethylene,fluorinatedpoly propyleneor Teflon .Storagecontainerswhich containcopper, brass,lead, tin or zincshouldnot be used to store petroleum-baseddiesel nor of such containerswill result in corrosionof the con-tainer and contaminationof the fuel. Every effort shouldbe taken to make sure that the biodieselproductis used within sixmonthsof the date of , Volvo Trucks North Americautilizesthe ChevronDelo ELC (ExtendedLife Coolant)at its New River Valley, VAplant facilityas its coolantis manufacturedby and purchasedfrom advisedthat the TexacoELC Coolantand ChevronDelo ELC Coolantbrandsare the same productand suitablefor all Volvo vehiclesthat come factoryfilled with the ChevronDelo ELC (red) addition,the ChevronDelo ELCC oolantand TexacoELC brand coolantmeet the same Volvo Truck North Color:Purple(Pink)CoolantType.

7 A 50/50 mixtureof clean water and Antifreezethat meetsor exceedsASTMD6210or TMC :StandardSpecificationfor Fully-FormulatedEthylene-Glycol-BaseEngi neCoolantfor :A coolantmixtureshouldnever have less than 40% antifreezeand 60% clean .. Replacethe coolantevery 250,000miles (400,000km) or 4000 hours orevery two years, ChangeInterval.. The coolantfilter is suitablefor 50,000miles (80,500km) . The chargedcoolantfilter containseight units of SCA that are releasedslowlyovertime to maintainthe recommendedlevel the SCAlevel tests , DO NOT replacethe coolantfilter. When testingin-dicatesthat the SCA level has droppedbelow units per US gallon( unit per liter) start changingthe filter with the oil changesagain.(SCA)Test Cycle.. CoolantSCA level must be testedat least twice a year and whenevercoolantloss maximumcoolingsystemefficiency, test thesystemevery 25,000to 35,000miles (40,000to 56,000km) dependingon oil changeintervalor every 1000 hours or every 6 months(whichevercomesfirst).
