G-2 bomb Threat PROCEDURES PURPOSE FL Army National Guard recognizes the possibility of telephone, written or oral Threat of personal injury or damage through the placement of an explosive or incendiary device ( bomb ) that, if detonated, can cause fire, damage, injury or death. This plan establishes procedures to be followed in the event a bomb Threat is received; or upon the discovery of a suspicious object. Procedure Any soldier or employee at FL Army National Guard who answers a telephone may receive a bomb Threat , and should be prepared to react immediately. Reciept of Warning 1. The person receiving the call should remain calm and try to prolong the conversation as long as possible. Try to gather information, keeping written notes of the following: A) how notification was received B) time that the call was received C) exact message D) where bomb is E) when the bomb will explode F) distinguishing voice charactreristics G) background noises (caller) H) caller s attitude, or state of exitement I) caller s familiarity with the facility as indicated by descriptions of locations 2.

2 The person receiving the call will notify the supervisor, who in turn will notify the Senior Leader present. This notification should be as soon as possible, using gestures or by written note if still on the phone; or immediately after the conclusion of the call. Response to Warning 1. When the senior Supervisor present has received the basic details of the bomb Threat , this individual is to call the local police (911). The chain of command should then be notified in accordance with SOP. 2. Further action will be as directed by the police. 3. The senior Supervisor present has the authority to evacuate the building on his or her own command. c. Search 1. If a specific location was mentioned for the bomb , the police will designate if a search is warranted, and will also describe who and how the search is to be conducted. 2. If no specific location was mentioned, evacuate the facility through normal exits and allow the police to search for the device. G-3 3.

3 If a suspected device is located: a. DO NOT TOUCH IT or MOVE IT!!!!! b. Evacuate building immediately. c. Open windows as possible while leaving. d. Close fire doors behind you as you pass through them. d. After-Action Report Prepare an after action report in accordance with SOP. e. Written bomb threats 1. Do not try to apprehend a person who hands you a written Threat . 2. Follow procedures as outlined above for receipt of a bomb Threat .
