borchi Gel L 75 NNon-ionic polyurethane based medium shear rate thickener forwaterborne coatings systems. VOC free, APEO-free andOrgano-tin freeDescriptionBorchi Gel L 75 N is a polyurethane based, non-ionic liquid thickener that is free of alkylphenolethoxylates (APEO), organo-tin compounds and VOC's. It develops viscosity stability in waterbasedcoatings mainly in the medium shear range between 1000 s-1 to 10000 s-1 depending upon the binder typeand other ingredients in the DataNon-volatile content48 - 52 %ISO 3251 (1g, 125 C, 1h)Viscosity5000 - 9000 mPa s(23 C) ISO 3219 (Appendix A)Density1,08 g/cm3 DIN 51757 (20 C)PropertiesBorchi Gel L 75 N is highly efficient and improves the rheological properties of waterborne coatingssystems for easier brush and roller application while generating high package viscosity.

2 It can be combinedwith other thickeners to achieve unique rheology profiles. borchi Gel L 75 N is made with aliphatic isocyanates so it does not yellow or cause chalking in the Gel L 75 N is more effective in small particle size emulsions based on pure acrylic, styrene-acrylicand styrene-butadiene. It is particularly useful in thickening acrylic gloss paints and anti-corrosion coatingsand does not adversely affect the water resistance of these films at recommended levels. borchi Gel L 75 N can be used successfully in aqueous two-component polyurethan and epoxy systemsand other air or oven dried binders.

3 DosageBorchi Gel L 75 N is easy to use and can be added at any stage of the formulation including as a postviscosity adjustment without pre-dilution. Typical usage levels are - % of the total weight of the formulation. Gloss paints may require a higheramount. The exact dosage should be experimentally determined. The thickening action of borchi Gel L 75 N may be reduced by polar, water soluble film forming solventssuch as alcohols, glycols and glycol ethers. However, low polar solvents such as butyl diglycol acetate andTexanol will increase the viscosity effect. Page 1 of 2 borchi Gel L 75 NWe recommend borchi Gen DFN or borchi Gen SN 95 as the dispersing agent for gloss and satin finishpaints for improved stability and to prevent pigment settling and float.
