3 The BMTHS was the second multi modular survey following the BOTSWANA Core Welfare Indicators Survey (BCWIS), which was conducted in 2009/10. Broadly, the BMTHS combined the Labour Force and Core Welfare Indicators to the enormous volume of data and variables that need to be analysed, Statistics BOTSWANA has adopted modular release of indicators, in particular, on the key modules addressing the Labour Force and Poverty, which are two key areas of study for the survey. This Statsbrief presents preliminary Economic Activity results from the 2015/16 BMTHS. These cover the headline labour force indicators of; total labour force, employment size, employment by occupation and industry, unemployment rates, and unemployment by level of training, among others. The BMTHS had a total of 16 modules, being;1. Demographic Characteristics2. Education3. Health4. Labour Force5. Wages and Income6. Services (Health and Education) within communities7.
