1 BUREAU OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS CONFIDENTIALITY POLICYThe BUREAU of INTERNAL AFFAIRS investigates, documents and reviewsallegations of misconduct against members of the Chicago Police Department members are entitled to certain due process and substantiverights derived from Department directives, collective bargaining agreements,state statutes and the Constitution of the United States of nature of disciplinary investigations and the impact that such investigationshave upon the Department and the affected Department members' rightsdocumentation, identification of accused and witnesses and other informationconcerning the investigation must remain confidential and must not bedisseminated to persons not entitled to such member of the BUREAU of INTERNAL AFFAIRS is responsible for ensuring theconfidentiality of matters investigated by the BUREAU of INTERNAL AFFAIRS anddisciplinary investigations assigned to and conducted by other of INTERNAL AFFAIRS personnel will limit dissemination of informationconcerning disciplinary investigations to only those persons who are necessaryfor the investigation of
