THE STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE pigs By: Kathleen Dixon PDF created with pdfFactory trial version Once upon a time there was a mother pig with three little pigs . They were living a happy life and all they ever did was play and sleep. The three little pigs started growing so big that the mother said to them you are getting too big for our house and must move out on your own. You must build houses that will keep you safe because the wolf is out in the woods and you must be very careful that the wolf does not catch you." So the three little pigs packed their little knap sacks and headed up the lane to see if they could make a house to live in. 1 THE STORY OF THE THREE LITTLE pigs By: Kathleen Dixon PDF created with pdfFactory trial version Once upon a time there was a mother pig with three little pigs . PDF created with pdfFactory trial version While they were traveling they met a man with a bundle of straw. The first little pig thought "hmmm, I bet this straw would make a nice safe house for us". Mister, said the first little pig, "will you give us some straw to build us a house to be safe in?

" "Of course" said the man with the straw, "I will give you what you need to make a nice safe house." So the three little pigs took the straw and made a nice house with their straw. PDF created with pdfFactory trial version And what a pretty straw house this was too. Two of the little pigs left to go for a walk and while they were gone the wolf decided to come for a visit. The wolf being brave went right up to the door and said "little pig, little pig, please let me in" and the little pig answered him "not by the hair of my chiney chin chin. "Well then" said the wolf, "If you won't let me in I will have to huff and puff and blow your house in!" PDF created with pdfFactory trial version the wolf started doing just that! He started huffing and puffing and blowing real hard. This scared the little pig so much that the little pig got to the back door and started running through the fields. The wolf was so busy the he did not notice the little pig running away.

After a lot of huffing and puffing and blowing the wolf blew the house down but he did not find a little pig in the house. The little pig was quicker than he was! The first little pig found his brothers and told them what had happened and the second little pig said "we just need to build a better house." PDF created with pdfFactory trial version While they were walking down the lane they ran into a man carrying sticks. "Those sticks would make a safe strong house" said the second little pig. "Mister" the pig said "can we have some of your sticks so that we can build a strong house? We had a house of straw but the wolf came and blew it down!" The man looked at the little pigs and told them they can use all the sticks they need to build their house. PDF created with pdfFactory trial version The little pigs worked real hard to make their stick house and finally they were done. "What a beautiful stick house this is.

" said the second little pig. The other two little pigs agreed with him and said "yes, this is a nice little house but now we must go get food. We are getting hungry." The other two little pigs left to go find food leaving the second little pig all by himself. It wasn't long after they left that the wolf found the stick house. PDF created with pdfFactory trial version "Little Pig, Little Pig" said the wolf "please let me in." The second little pig answered "not by the hair of my chiney chin chin" "Very well" said the wolf; I will just have to huff and puff and blow your house in! And the wolf started huffing and puffing and huffing and puffing some more. PDF created with pdfFactory trial version the wolf was huffing and puffing the little pig got scared but he remembered his little brother pig ran away from the wolf. So the little pig went to the back window and crawled out and ran to the lake behind the house.

Just as he got to the lake the wolf blew the house in but the little pig was too fast and got away. The little pig made it too the lake and swam away. PDF created with pdfFactory trial version second little pig found his brothers and they thought about their problem for a while. The third little pig said "we must build a super strong house, just like momma has. And then the wolf will leave us alone" As they were walking down the lane they met a man carrying bricks. "Wow" said the third pig, I know those bricks would make a real strong house just like mommas. So the third little pig asked the man, "Mister, will you give us some bricks to build a house with? We have built houses with straw and with sticks and the mean old wolf blew them away!" PDF created with pdfFactory trial version The three little pigs had a real nice home. They played outside and had fun all day. Then at night they came in. They stayed safe and warm in their brick house.

They were so happy! The three little pigs knew that it would not be long before the wolf would find them, so they discussed what they would do. After they talked for a while they went to bed. The next day the three little pigs saw the wolf coming up the road. They ran inside of the house of bricks and they knew they were safe. PDF created with pdfFactory trial version The wolf started knocking on the door and said little pig, little pig please let me in and the third little pig answered him Not by the hair of my chiny chin chin! So the wolf said "Then I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house in." So he huffed, and he puffed, and he puffed and he huffed some more, but the house of bricks would not come down! PDF created with pdfFactory trial version The wolf got very very mad, but he pretended that he was not mad at all. The wolf decided that the only way to get the three little pigs was to pretend to be friends with them.

"If I act like I am friendly" he thought "then those pigs will trust me and let me come in and then I will get them!" So the Wolf called out to him Little pig, if you will be ready at six o clock in the morning, I will take you to the farmers field and we can get some nice turnips there. Where are the turnips?" said the little pig. "Oh, in Mr. Smith's field, and if you will be ready to-morrow morning we will go together, and get some turnips for dinner." replied the wolf. "Very well," said the little pig. "What time do you want to go?" The wolf told him "6 o'clock would be good." PDF created with pdfFactory trial version "So the little pig got up at five, went to the turnip fields and got the turnips before the wolf came crying:--"Little pig, are you ready?" The little pig said: "Ready! I have been to the turnip fields, got some turnips, and have a nice pot full cooking for dinner." I was ready and you were not here yet so I went on without you.

PDF created with pdfFactory trial version wolf felt very angry at this, but thought that he was smarter than the little pig. He was not going to let another pig outsmart him, so he said:--"Little pig, I know where there is a nice apple-tree. "Where?" said the pig. "Down at Merry-garden," replied the wolf, "and if you will not deceive me I will come for you, at five o'clock to-morrow, and get some apples." The little pig got up next morning at four o'clock, and went off for the apples, hoping to get back before the wolf came; but it took too long to climb the tree, and just as he was coming down from it, he saw the wolf coming. When the wolf came up he said:-- "Little pig, why are you here before me? I told you I would come for you. Are they nice apples?" "Yes, very," said the little pig. "I will throw you one down." PDF created with pdfFactory trial version And he threw it so far that, while the wolf was gone to pick it up, the little pig jumped down and ran home.

His brothers were waiting for him to return with the apples. "Hurry, hurry," said the third little pig "lock all the windows and doors because the wolf is coming!" The wolf was very angry at the pig:--The little pig was scared but he stayed real quiet. The three little pigs filled a pot with water and put it over the fire in his fire place. This made the water very hot. The wolf knew that the little pigs were scared and that delighted him. The wolf said to the little pigs , little pigs , I am going to come down your chimney to get you and eat you up! PDF created with pdfFactory trial version So down the chimney the wolf went. The little pigs said nothing to the wolf and when then wolf got down the chimney, He went splash right into the pot of boiling hot water! The wolf decided the pigs were too smart for him and agreed to leave the three little pigs alone. The wolf stayed around the three little pigs home to make sure nothing ever came to harm them.

The three little pigs and the wolf learned how to be friends and live happily ever after. -The End- PDF created with pdfFactory trial version PDF created with pdfFactory trial version PDF created with pdfFactory trial version PDF created with pdfFactory trial version
