Overview CA Roscoe provides an online resource that combines remote job entry management, data set and source code editing and integrated procedures, enabling powerful online services for programmers and end users.
2 Business value Our unique architecture enables over 200+ concurrent users to perform their program development tasks within a single address space architecture, enabling sites to maximize the use of IT resources. This architecture enhances system performance and program development while providing all the essential development tools required to perform a variety of tasks. CA Roscoe Interactive Environment 2 Features Mainframe CA Roscoe has adopted a key Mainframe feature that is designed to simplify your use of the product and enable your staff to install, configure and maintain it more effectively and quickly.
3 Electronic Software Delivery (ESD): The Mainframe ESD enables you to install CA Roscoe using standard utilities------without requiring you to reconstitute a tape cartridge. This new procedure helps speed installation and facilitates a consistent install process across the mainframe products from CA Technologies, shortening the learning curve for mainframe staff. What s new in CA Roscoe PDSE: Support for PDSE load libraries, RECFM=U, has been added to the CA Roscoe Data Set Facility. Dynamic UCB support: CA Roscoe supports dynamic I/O configurations, DCD.

BTSO: Enables sites to execute purchased or user-developed applications in an address space separate from CA Roscoe . A CA Roscoe user communicates with the BTSO address space via a 4k ETSO application. RPF security: CA Roscoe enables sites to control access to RPF executions through external security. CA Roscoe uses SAF-compliant calls to provide external security through CA Top Secret , CA ACF2 and IBM s RACF. JOB facility: An extension has been added to JOB processing to incorporate the ATTACH JOB, DISPLY, PURGE and CONSOLE commands into a user-friendly display.
5 This facility utilizes menus and selection lists for the processing of jobs in the JES queue and provides information about executing jobs, initiators, devices and console commands. Group sign-on: When signing on to one CA Roscoe from another CA Roscoe via XTPM, users can now pass an optional user group code. JES SPOOL security: Access to the JES SPOOL, via the CA Roscoe Attach Job Facility, can be controlled through external security. CA Roscoe uses SAF-compliant calls to provide external security through CA Top Secret, CA ACF2 and IBM s RACF.
