Per Assembly Bill 2862 and Assembly Bill 37, Chapter 6 47, Education Code Section requires the Superintendent, in consultation with the IQC, to recommend to the state board revisions to the visual and performing arts content Standards in the subjects of dance, music, theatre, and visual arts adopted by the state board pursuant to Section , and to recommend new Standards for the subject of media arts .

2 On January 9, 2019, the SBE adopted the California arts Standards for Public Schools , Prekindergarten Through Grade Twelve ( arts Standards ).Portions of this work are based on the National Core arts 2015 National Coalition for Core arts Standards /All Rights Reserved.
