Handgun buyers must have additional Proof Of Residency (POR) to meet CA regulations. This POR must meet the following requirements and be on the approved list of documents. Unfortunately the CA Department of Justice knows that many people forget to notify the DMV when they move, so they will not allow us to take a CDL as the only Proof of Residency when buying a handgun. **All documents must have the following:**. [ ] Purchaser's Full Name (Suffixes are required Jr., II, III & Sr.)

2 [ ] A Qualifying Address (either). (_) Buyer's current, "actual," residential address as required on 4473 & DROS. OR. (_) Buyer's address as it appears on his or her Ca Driver License or ID. Acceptable Proof Of Residency (POR) Documents List: [ ] Utility Bill - providing direct service to the individual's residence (_) Hard wired telephone/cable connection, water/gas pipeline connection, fixed non-mobile antenna/satellite dish. (_) Bill/statement date must be within two months of the Dealer Record Of Sale (DROS) - your registration date. [ ] Government Issued: Vehicle Registration, Special Licenses or Permits (city, county, special district, state, or federal). (_) Must have an expiration date or period of validity.

3 (_) Must still be valid. Acceptable: DMV Registration, Guard Card / Weapons Card [ ] Residential Lease Agreement (See Separate Document PN483 "Leases and Rental Agreements"). [ ] Property deed - this means either of the following: (_) A valid deed of trust for the individual's property of current residence that identifies the individual as a grantee of the trust. (_) A valid Certificate of Title issued by a licensed title insurance company that identifies the individual as a title holder to his or her property of current residence. [ ] Valid peace officer credential - issued by a California law enforcement agency to an: active, reserve, or retired peace officer. [ ] Military station orders - with current military ID.
