They comprise minimumrequirements and constitute the basis for the issue of Certificates, Permits andApprovals in accordance with the Air Navigation Code is applicable only to those gyroplanes that are excluded from regulation bythe European aviation Safety Agency under Regulation (EC) No.

8 [216/2008] Article 4and Annex BCAR section T for Light Gyroplanes has been based on BCAR section S, whichis applicable to microlight aeroplanes, suitably amended to cover gyroplanes, and isintended to reflect a similar level of Airworthiness . Where appropriate, rotorcraftrequirements have been included which align with which have been shown to comply with BCAR section T will only beeligible for a Permit to will be accorded to light gyroplanes designed, manufactured and testedin accordance with technical standards or regulations of other [states, which ensurean equivalent level of safety. The results of checks and tests carried out by suitablyqualified and approved bodies and laboratories of other states] will be taken intoconsideration where such results provide a level of accuracy, fitness and suitability forpurpose equivalent to the results of tests carried out in the United Kingdom andwhere such bodies and laboratories offer a suitable and satisfactory guarantee oftechnical and professional competence and Requirements , with or without explanatory material, should not be regarded asconstituting a textbook of current aeronautical knowledge.

9 Interpretation of therequirements against a background of such knowledge is necessary, the mandatory Requirements have been supplemented byinterpretative material, which give acceptable interpretation of Requirements , staterecommended practices or give supplementary clauses are invariably denoted by the use of shall or must , should or may are used in the text to indicate permissive or recommended is implicit in Requirements expressed qualitatively ( readily visible , adequatelytested ) that the CAA will adjudicate in cases where doubt 29 July 2011 CAP 643 BCAR section T Foreword Page of BCAR section T is divided into 2 Parts: Part 1 Requirements and Part 2 Acceptable Means of Compliance and Interpretative Material (AMC).
