2 Welcome also to those families who have joined our wonderful School community for the first time. Along with the many important term dates shared in the column to the left, we also have the excitement of our CSPS Character Day (28th August) as well as a visit from the Minister for Education to look forw ard to (10th August). T here have been a number of new additions to the School grounds during the mid year break also with the completion of our shade structure/basketball court which will provide the School with a sun smart place to play all year round and also ensure our students can make use of more of the School grounds in term 1 and 4 in particular. Reseeding and repair work to our Soccer field is also underway with a superb and flat playing surface currently taking shape, although growing grass will mean this space is off limits for a little while.

3 T he completion of outdoor learning spaces for our B block team also means that our students will have more choice and opportunity in where and how they work on projects and investigations as the year progresses. Congratulations to Brooke Rapley who represented CSPS in taking out the Champion Decorated Chook at the Katherine Show. Brooke s effort was selected as the overall winner out of a field containing hundreds of designs! Well done to all those CSPS students who participated and had lots of fun doing so. I spent lots and lots of time admiring chickens as a big part of my day at the Katherine show this year!
