4 Switches rated 115 kV andabove are shipped preassembled (live parts on Switch bases), butwith insulators crated C switches for horizontal, upright mounting are supplied withwipe-type arcing horns of hard drawn copper. Wipe-type horns pro-tect the main Switch contacts in opening and closing but are notrated for interruption of line charging or transformer more demanding interrupting requirements, high-speed, snap-out arcing horns can be provided for interruption of charging andmagnetizing currents.
