3 Catechetical Leader Information Preparation for Confirmation For information regarding the parish providing a Confirmation Retreat for the students, click here: Scroll down to Confirmation Guidelines/Resources. According to Canon Law, To be licitely confirmed it is required that one be suitably instructed, properly disposed and able to renew one s baptismal promises. At the heart of the Sacrament of Confirmation is the Person of the Holy Spirit and the sevenfold Gifts of the Holy Spirit. For a recorded teaching by Msgr. Joseph Hirsch, click here: In orderly to be properly disposed to receive Confirmation, young people need to make a good examination of conscience and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. If the students preparing for Confirmation write a letter about why they want to be confirmed and why they chose a specific saint, those letters are for the pastor only.

4 Witnesses for Christ Conference August The Witnesses for Christ Conference will be held this year in August. In working with a committee, it was decided to hold the "Conference" virtually on a Wednesday evening. A national, keynote speaker will present virtually to your catechists, parents and any interested adult as you meet together at the parish. This interactive presentation will be from roughly 5:30 - 7 , with the suggestion that the Catechetical Leader then host further formation and information for the catechists. This could also include a meal before the presentation or even during, if you so desire. Cost will be $10 per person. Further details to follow. Infant Baptismal Preparation ZOOM Mtg on Feb. 11th If you are interested in reviewing the Infant Baptismal Prep booklet developed by the Offices for Catechesis & Evangelization, Marriage & Family Life and Sacred Worship, please join in a ZOOM Meeting on Feb.

Providing Parents with Nuggets of Formation Any time you are in contact with parents, provide them with small nuggets of formation. Handouts are categorized, such as Sacraments, God Jesus Christ, the Liturgical Year etc. RCIA Fostering a Prayer Life It is essential for the people in RCIA to be helped to develop a daily habit of prayer.

This celebration is attached to the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord on February 2nd. This Feast is also known as Candlemas Day, the day on which candles are blessed symbolizing Christ who is the light of the world. So too, those in consecrated life are called to reflect the light of Jesus Christ to all peoples. The celebration of World Day for Consecrated Life is transferred to the following Sunday in order to highlight the gift of consecrated persons for the whole Church.
