1 CHAPTER 6 TYPES OF CONSTRUCTIONSECTION provisions of this CHAPTER shall control theclassification of buildings as to type of 602 CONSTRUCTION and structures erected or to beerected, altered or extended in height or area shall be classifiedin one of the five CONSTRUCTION TYPES defined in Sections The building elements shall have afire-resis-tance ratingnot less than that specified in Table 601 and exte-rior walls shall have afire-resistance ratingnot less than thatspecified in Table 602.
