3 Last day of school for teachersMakeup timeThe superintendent determines makeup times. Jan. 17 and May 30 will not be used for makeup time. Makeup time may include the lengthening of some instructional days and the loss of the Feb. 21 holiday and/or early release days. The school Board retains the right to modify the Calendar . Important DatesFirst day of school updatesElementary Schools : Aug. 23, is the first day for all students in grades 1-5. All kindergarten students will attend school during the first week; however, there will be a staggered schedule for students. Some kindergarten students will attend Aug. 23-24; other kindergarten students will attend Aug. 25-26. ( Schools will assign students to specific days.) This will allow students to become more familiar with their new surroundings in a smaller classroom setting.

4 All kindergarten students will report to school daily starting Aug. 27. Middle and high Schools : Aug. 23 is the first day for sixth- and ninth-grade students only. This will allow for a successful transition of students moving from one school level to another, and will allow staff members to begin to build relationships and share expectations. All other middle and high school students will start school Aug. 24.
