1 Paseo Gateway The Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant focuses on strategies in 3 core areas: Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant Fact Sheet 1. Housing Brinshore Development of Chicago is the master developer selected competitively for the Chouteau Courts Public Housing Replacement Plan. Chouteau Courts is the subject public housing site. The 134 units were completed in 1958. The site is obsolete, isolated, and the least desirable of all the Housing Authority's sites. Housing will not be redeveloped on the site; however, every public housing unit will be replaced.

3 The Housing Authority received a 2010 Choice Neighborhoods Planning Grant to create the Paseo Gateway Transformation Plan. All housing sites will be mixed income with public housing, market rate and tax credit units (except for Rose Hill Townhomes). A total production of 360 new and rehabilitated units is planned. The first phase of replacement housing Rose Hill Townhomes, is already under construction. Rose Hill, in the Paseo West neighborhood , is developed in partnership with reStart, Inc. as permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless families.
