Time passes so quickly, it seems, that it is only in reflecting on all that has happened that the year comes into focus. The Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy that concluded on our parish s patronal feast day, Christ the king Sunday, offered us many opportunities to give and receive the grace of God s mercy. In 2016 we saw the beginning of a new ministry to married couples, Marriage In His Image, which continues to bear fruit. We launched a partnership with to provide online programs, movies, audio and ebooks to enrich our faith at no cost to parishioners, and several discipleship groups began meeting regularly to deepen their relationship with of us experienced a wonderful pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
2 We saw the retirement of our esteemed CK School principal, Mrs. Karen Carter, and of our Pre-K program head, Mrs. Linda Airington. We redesigned our parish website, initiated the CK Youth Choir, carpeted the Parish Center Atrium and established the Annual CK Fun Run and the PTO Green Team, which has already had an enormous impact on reducing our use of plastic and other waste while increasing our recycling and environmental awareness. And we introduced a new mission and vision statement: Christ the king is a faith community dedicated to helping each person develop a relationship with Christ in His Church, forming disciples, serving others and proclaiming the Good News.+KNOW Christ +BECOME DISCIPLES+EMBRACE MISSION+BUILD THE KINGDOMWith all that we accomplished in 2016 there is still so much yet to come. Our recent parish survey of spiritual engagement should give us insight into where our ongoing work of adult spiritual formation should focus and what ministries may be fruitful for our thank our parishioners and neighbors who have advertised in this guide Book and Directory.

Thursdays, 8:15 Buswell SocietyThe Bishop Buswell Society is named for our parish founder, whose vision of the future inspired the first generation of parishioners to build a church and school through ceaseless giving of themselves and their resources. The Bishop Buswell Society was established in our continuing effort to publicly recognize and honor those who have remembered Christ the king Church and/or School through estate-related gifts. These special people are dedicated to a better future for their church and school for years to come. Membership in the Bishop Buswell Society is offered to those who include Christ the king in their estate plan as a beneficiary or contingent beneficiary in their will, a codicil to their will, or a life insurance policy. Membership is also offered to those who enter into an agreement with the church or school to purchase a Gift Annuity, an Annuity Trust, Unitrust or other form of life income contract, or who make the church or school the owner of a life insurance policy.
6 In providing bequests or establishing trusts, you are always encouraged to use an attorney or other financial advisor. The CK business office welcomes the opportunity to work with you and your advisor in planning your gift. Membership may be anonymous. However, Christ the king sincerely desires that members be recognized on our honor roll plaque and presented with an engraved Bishop Buswell Society Revere bowl. May Bishop Buswell s forward-looking spirit remain with us and inspire us to assure a very promising future for our parish family and the community we serve.
