4 The entrance of a child into the world at once spurs a greater effort toward peace and also the willingness to defend, even at one's own peril. A new life has a lot of potential, and many new and amazing things can come from the lives of our children. So much more with Jesus: a lot of hopes were laid on him based on the expectations of the people of Israel, but for him to succeed, he must be defended, protected, and helped to grow up. God desired to go through all of this, with us, and so teach us how to do it well ourselves. As saints in the making, we have been nurtured and grown by our parents and families, and by God, and we have been inspired to do many things, great and small, all for the glory of God and the betterment of our neighbors and world.

5 I thank you for all you do, and I look forward to continuing to do it all with you in the months and years to come. To make real, every day of the year, what happens at Christmas is our goal: bring Jesus into the world, give him flesh once again, in all of our work, in all of our interactions and in all of our relationships. May the Christmas Blessings of Peace and Inspiration be yours this season! 6 Christmas / Holy Family December 25/26, 2021 Faith Formation We wish the entire parish family and those visiting a joy filled Christmas! We thank our Faith Formation families for participating and trusting us again this year as we try new ways to connect and grow our Domestic Churches. It s been a privilege to see so many smiling faces each month as we prepare our sacramental candidates. We look forward to expanded offerings in the New Year and the monthly resources packet for January will be distributed soon. We encourage new families to reach out and let us know if you have any questions or interest in learn-ing more about our program.

Finally, the leader of the house can pray this prayer: God of every nation and people, from the very beginning of creation you have made manifest your love: when our need for a Savior was great you sent you Son to be born of the Virgin Mary. To our lives he brings joy and peace, justice, mercy, and love. Lord, bless all who look upon this manager; may it remind us of the humble birth of Jesus, and raise up our thoughts to him, who is God-with-us and Savior of all, and who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
