1 cima Professional Qualification Overview The study route to the Chartered Management Accounting Qualification contains 12 papers at 3 different levels: Operational, Management and Strategic. It covers decision-making and management skills, builds expertise and technical accounting and deals with strategic issues and business practices. Entry Requirements Successful completion of the cima Certificate in Business Accounting. How long will it take? With dedicated study each of the three levels should take approximately one year. Course Details In each level there are three core exams: Performance, Enterprise and Financial, each of which is assessed via a computer-based exam, with a pass mark of 70%.
2 The Performance modules cover cost accounting, purchasing, pricing, forecasting and budgeting, responsibility centre management, risk and uncertainty analysis and short-term finance. The Enterprise modules cover global business environment, information systems, operations, marketing, competing, human resource management, change management and project management. The Financial modules cover managing tax, investment projects, evaluating requirements, financial reporting and financial strategy formulation. After successfully completing the 3 core exams at each level, you must take a case study exam which tests your knowledge of all 3 subjects as applying to a previewed scenario.
3 These exams are held 4 times a year at Pearson Vue Test Centres. The pass mark is 60%. There are 3 methods available for distance learning for the core exams at each level: 1. Home Study. The student is supplied with the study guide, course notes, question bank, pass cards and full tutor contact details for email and telephone support, together with a tutor marked progress exam. 2. Online. This learning method is more expensive and, as well as all the above material supplied for Home Study, includes online lectures, two online mock exams and an online study text for reference and background reading. 3. Live Online. This includes all the online resources detailed above and, if you are enrolled with First Intuition Distance Learning College, London (see Course Provider & Fees section below), also enables you to watch their classroom sessions broadcast live from London at weekends or evenings.
4 This gives more structure to your studies as there are fixed start and end dates. For each case study exam First Intuition offers live online courses which include pre-recorded guidance on the previewed scenario and revision tips, live broadcasts of their classroom sessions and three tutor-marked mock exams with live online debriefs.
