2 The mode hand indicates the current GREENWICH MEAN TIME (UTC) AND TIMEDIFFERENCE Those cities (regions) that use Daylight Savings Time are indicated with a circle, while those (regions) that do not are indicated with an X. Countries or regions may change time zones for various SETTING THE TIME<Digital Time Setting (TME)> When the time is set for any city, the times inother cities are set reading this instruction manual pleasekeep the watch diagram at left folded out and inview. Symbols ( A, B , etc.) used in thesections on operating instructions refer to thesymbols indicated in this diagram.

3 [Normal Time Display]1. Press button Mand setthe watch to TME Press button Aor C,and display the name ofthe city for which thetime is to be set. 3. Pull out button M. Thehours, minutes andseconds of the digitaldisplay will start to flash.* The time can be switched to Daylight SavingTime as this button Cto switch to Daylight Saving Timefor that city. When the Daylight Saving Time isdisplayed the word SUMMER will be Each time button Ais pressed, the display willchange in the order of SUMMER, seconds,minutes, hours and 12H/24H (12 hour or 24 hour)display. Since the flashing digit of the displaychanges each time button Ais pressed, pressbutton Auntil the digit of the display you want tocorrect flashes5.

4 Press button Cto set the flashing digit of thedisplay (continuously pressing button Cwillcause the number displayed to advance rapidly). When setting to a 12 hour display, make surethe display for AM/PM is Push button Aback into the normal position,completing the digital time setting. Daylight Savings Time can be set independentlyfor each city. <Analog Time Setting>Analog cannot be set alone. However, analog timecan be set by switching the digital and analogdisplay. Refer to section 7 entitled, SwitchingBetween Analog Time and Digital Time . (Page 14)6. SETTING THE CALENDAR When the calendar is set for any city, thecalendar for the other cities are set automatically.

5 [Normal Calendar Display]1. Press button Mand setthe watch to the Press button Aor button Cto display the city forwhich you want to set Pull out the Mbutton. 6 Aconfirming beep will be produced indicating thatthe times (calendar) of the cities designated fordigital have been DISPLAYING TIME AND CALENDAR OFMAJOR CITIES OF THE WORLD1. Press button Mand setthe watch to the TME orCAL Press button A(to advancethe name of the citiesforward) or button C(toadvance the name of thecities backward) to displaythe desired USE OF ZONE SETTING (SET) In the zone setting function, only the cities selected SET can be retrieved and displayed in eachmode easily.[Zone Setting Mode]<Zone Setting>1. Press button Mand set thewatch to the SET Press button Aor button Cto display the city thatyou want to Pull out button M.

When setting other cities, first press button Aor Cto display the city desired to be corrected, andthen set for each city using button After completing settings for each city, push button Mto the normal position to complete the settingprocedure. The year can be set from the years 1995 to 2099. Since this watch is equipped with an auto-calendar function, there is no need to correctthe date at the end of the month. Thenreturns to set time When button Ais pressed, the timer will start tomeasure time from the set The timer is stopped by pressing button Aduring timing. Press button Aagain to restart When the timer is stopped, pressing button Creturns the timer to the set time.

Timer Fly Back (Restart) FunctionWhen button Cis pressed during timing, the timer willreturn to the set time and restart timing automatically.<Use of Racing Timer 2 (R-2)>This racing timer is equipped with an auto-chronographfunction in which operation automatically switchesto chronograph measurement simultaneous to timeelapsing on the timer. The auto-chronographfunction measures time for 24 hours and followingcompletion ofchronographmeasurement,the timer returnsto the set timeand When button Ais pressed, the timer will start tomeasure time from the set The timer timing or auto-chronograph measurementis stopped by pressing button When the timer or auto-chronograph is stopped,pressing button Creturns the timer to the set time.
