2 Position requires an extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in specializing functions or business areas that can be used to develop policies and procedures as well as determining efficient and innovative ways to accomplish the City's strategic priorities. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED. Administrative direction is provided by the Chief of Police or designee. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To support the vision, mission and guiding principles of the City. Skills in public/employee relations and problem solving. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have effective communication skills, ability to work in fast-paced environment. While performing any procedure, all personnel must observe applicable Safety, Health, and Environmental rules and guidelines.

3 Attend and participate in training opportunities and seminars relevant to this position. Adhere to appropriate city operating procedures, benefit rules, employment, and safety policies/practices ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Trains, supervises, directs and evaluates staff, handling employee concerns and problems, directing work, and counseling, disciplining and completing employee performance evaluations; conducts job interviews and recommends applicant selections. Reports and disburses court funds to appropriate accounts and state agencies. Prepares the court docket, including notifying all involved parties of court dates, assembling citations, and gathering the data needed for judgments and manages the distribution of subpoenas.

4 Processes cash receipts, court judgments, drivers' license revocations, cash bond refunds, probation revocations, failure to comply cases, and requests for show cause hearings after judgments are assessed. Compiles and prepares various reports for state and federal agencies, prepares bench warrants for failure to appear cases, schedules bail bond forfeiture hearings, issues FiFa's, orders service for fraudulent insurance cases, prepares probation warrants. Prepares bind-overs for jury trial and ensures all bonds are properly transferred; prepares and coordinates transfer of cases to other courts as ordered by the Municipal Court Judge. 1. 5 Oversees and attends all court sessions; prepares and distributes court calendars; records case information and maintains files on same; ensures legal documents and motions are properly filed; secures signatures of defendants on waivers; provides assistance regarding court procedures, sentencing guidelines, or related information to attorneys, police officers, solicitors and the general public. Prepares various correspondence for the court, including collection letters, governing authority agenda items, and miscellaneous correspondence to state, federal and local agencies, individuals, other courts, and other departments; notarizes documents as appropriate. Provides assistance to the public, answers the telephone, and responds to requests for information from the general public, attorneys, and local, state and federal officials ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

The need for accuracy and effective utilization of accepted programs and routines is high. Errors in judgment will waste resources and adversely impact performance. Incumbent operates independently but work is verified. Content of work priorities are determined by supervision. The purpose of this position is to ensure the provision of Municipal Court services. Successful performance helps ensure the efficient and effective operation of the court. COMMUNICATIONS/CUSTOMER CONTACT. Contacts are across the entire City community and in a leadership capacity. Community contact is a critical component of success in developing good will and support of City programs and initiatives.

7 Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, motivate personnel, provide services, and resolve problems. The Court Clerk shall not act in any capacity as to offer legal advice with cases for adjudication. COMPETENCIES/SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING PREFERRED: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
