1 city OF OTTAWA park DESIGNATIONS . ( revised july 2006). A list of parks in the city of OTTAWA and their DESIGNATIONS is below. The city of OTTAWA assigns a designation to a park in accordance with the city 's park Designation Policy as follows: Dogs allowed (leash-free). Dogs on leash, or No dogs allowed As city Staff schedules community consultation sessions in communities like Kanata, Nepean, Stittsville, Gloucester, etc., we anticipate that more dog- friendly parks will be added to the list. This is an ongoing project. Whether walking in public or on private property, all dog owners should be familiar with all laws, bylaws and regulations pertaining to their dogs, including OTTAWA 's Animal Care and Control Bylaws and Ontario's Dog Owner Liability Act (2005).

2 Owners of dogs that are restricted under the Provincial Dog Owners' Liability Act should also be familiar with the new Pit Bull Controls.
