The listing will be updated periodically. The most current information will be available at For your interpretation of the listing, the following may be of some assistance: QUARRY NUMBER The first number indicates the KDOT District in which the quarry is located.

2 The second number indicates the county, which is also named in Column 3. The third number indicates the point-in-sequence of quarries sampled within that county. Hence, 4-67-2, would indicate the second quarry sampled in Neosho County, which is in the Fourth District. If the quarry is not in Kansas then the first two letters of the quarry number represent the state where the quarry is located, MO-12 would indicate the twelfth quarry sampled in Missouri. BEDDING NUMBER, THICKNESS, GEOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION KDOT Geologists determine the geologic classification and thickness of visually discernible beds within the quarry face.

3 Numbering begins at the top and progresses downward, beds which are identified by capital letters have been added subsequent to the initial identification of beds and lie above bed number one. Letters begin with the first bed above bed number one and progress upward. Photographs and lithologic descriptions are on file in the Materials and Research Laboratory and District Headquarters Offices. Paving Class The specification contains three Paving classes Class 0, Class 1, and Class 2. A 0 in the Paving Class Column indicates that the materials have failed to meet the requirements of Class 1 or Class 2. Class 2 Aggregate has more stringent requirements than Class 1.

4 Refer to Section 1102 of the 2007 Standard Specifications for Class 1 and Class 2 requirements. NOTICE: All quarries with no Class 1 or Class 2 Aggregate have been eliminated from the A List beginning with the forty-third listing. This listing contains the current information at the time of publication. The Producer should be contacted concerning availability of Class 1 or Class 2 Aggregate and any restrictions placed on the quarry. Re-sampled ledges and failed production samples since the last listing was issued may not be reflected in this listing due to time requirements for testing. Please review this list for any errors or updates that we may have missed. Contact the Engineer of Tests to make corrections.
