1 Inmarsat s Classic Aero H / H+ and Aero I services offer AMS(R)S communications meeting ICAO standards and are now routinely used on the world s oceanic air , they are available as standard fit from most aircraft manufacturers and are used by nearly all of the world s leading airlines, business jets operators and government agencies. With the availability of Aero H+ on both Inmarsat -3 (I-3) and Inmarsat -4 (I-4) satellites, SwiftBroadband users are able to concurrently use SwiftBroadband and Classic safety services through a single has demonstrated its ongoing commitment to provide and enhance safety services for the aviation industry through the investment in new infrastructure for the Classic and the SwiftBroadband safety services through new GES infrastructure which were deployed in 2013.

3 This service will be retired at the end of H+Aero H+ provides packet data rates of up to Kbps for ACARS, FANS and ATN communications, and up to Kbps per channel for multi-channel voice. The service is provided through a high-gain antenna in the global beams of the I-3 and I-4 satellite constellations. Applications include passenger, operational, administrative and safety communications. 8 It will enable new Electronic Flight Bag applications, as well as integrated aircraft position reporting, while still providing the required two channels of cockpit voice and FANS ACARS services . The SwiftBroadband FANS ACARS service is designed to meet the more stringent ICAO GOLD standard requirements, such as the GOLD RCP240 requirement for oceanic airspace, and the voice service is built to perform to the new ICAO SVGM standard. These new standards set the requirements that permit reduced separation aircraft operations in oceanic airspace, so-called 30/30 NM operations, allowing increased airspace capacity whilst enhancing safety.
