8 136 31 Technological Change ..45 18 Temporary Assignments ..20 1 Term of Collective Agreement ..1 20 Travel Expenses ..20 21 Vacation With Pay ..23 11 Work Schedules and Shifts ..8 24 Workers Compensation ..31 - 1 - Collective Agreement made this 5th day of February 2015 BETWEEN Covenant Health (hereinafter referred to as the Employer ) OF THE FIRST PART - and - Health SCIENCES ASSOCIATION OF ALBERTA paramedical professional / technical UNIT (hereinafter called the Union ) OF THE SECOND PART PREAMBLE Agreeing that the primary purpose of the Employer and the Employees is to provide the community with quality Health care with compassion consistent with Covenant Health s mission, visions and values, it is the intent of the parties to: (a) ensure the provisions of the best possible service and care; (b) protect the interests of patients, Employees and the community; (c) maintain harmonious relations between the Employer and the Union; (d) recognize the mutual value of joint discussions and negotiations in all matters of mutual concern to the parties.

9 NOW THEREFORE, THE PARTIES HERE TO AGREE AS FOLLOWS: ARTICLE 1: TERM OF Collective Agreement Except where specifically provided otherwise, the terms of this Collective Agreement shall be effective from the date upon which the Health Sciences Association of Alberta and Covenant Health exchange notice of ratification by their principals of this Collective Agreement , up to and including the thirty-first (31st) day of March, 2017, and from year-to-year thereafter unless notice, in writing, is given by either party to the other not less than sixty (60) calendar days nor more than one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days prior to the expiration date of its desire to change or amend this Collective Agreement . - 2 - Where notice is served by either party to commence Collective bargaining, this Collective Agreement shall continue in full force and effect until a new Collective Agreement has been executed.

10 An employee whose employment has terminated prior to the signing of this Collective Agreement is eligible to receive retroactively any increase(s) to basic hourly salary schedules that they would have received but for the termination of employment, upon the submission of a written application to the Employer within ninety (90) calendar days of the ratification of the Collective Agreement . ARTICLE 2: DEFINITIONS Note: Amend Article and for EMS in Local Conditions (Page 144) In this Collective Agreement : Code means The Labour Relations Code as amended from time-to-time. Arbitration shall take meaning from the section of the Code dealing with the resolution of a difference. Association means the Health Sciences Association of Alberta. Basic Rate of Pay is the step in the scale applicable to the employee as set out in the Salaries Appendix inclusive of the premium payable as set out in Article , but exclusive of all other allowances and premium payments.
