2 Provide supervision or senior staff support of Computer operations in a large-scale, multi-programmedmainframe Computer environment, or the conduct of similar duties within a large network of distributedminicomputer and microcomputer systems. All personnel perform related specialists ( operations ) may be required to work shifts, including nights, Saturdays, Sundays,and holidays.(This is a brief description of what you might do in this position and does not include all the duties of thisposition.)THE SALARY: The current minimum salary is $55,221 per annum.

4 With a specialization in computeroperations, and three years of satisfactory, full-time large-scale mainframe Computer operationsor three years of satisfactory data communication network experience in a mainframeenvironment, gained since June, 1996, one year of which must have been in a project leadercapacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or(Note: If you have a certificate from an accredited technical school (approximately 675 hours)with a specialization in Computer operations , indicate the Name of the School, Number of HoursCompleted, and the Date of Graduation in Section [Courses] on page 2 of the Education andExperience Test Paper).

5 (2)A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory, full-timeexperience as described in 1 above, including one year of which must have been in a projectleader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or(3)A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described in 1 above, including one year of which must have been in aproject leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or(4)A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1, 2, or 3 above.

6 However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or itseducational equivalent and three years of satisfactory, full-time large-scale mainframe computeroperations or three years of satisfactory data communication network experience in a mainframeExam. No. 3050 - Page 2environment, gained since June, 1996, one year of which must have been in a project leadercapacity or as a major contributor on a complex : In order to have your experience accepted as Project Leader or Major Contributorexperience, you must explain in detail how your experience qualifies you as a project leader or asa major contributor.

7 Experience in Computer software development and maintenance, technicalsupport, quality assurance (QA), hardware installation, or as an end user will not be accepted formeeting the minimum qualification are responsible for determining whether or not you meet the qualification requirements for this examinationprior to submitting your application. Fill out Section A, , , , and B. This form must be filled out completely and in detail for you to receive your properrating. Keep a copy of your completed Education and Experience Test Paper for your records. Education Fact Sheet (Required only if you need credit for your foreign educationto meet the education and experience requirements): If you were educated outside the UnitedStates, you must have your foreign education evaluated to determine its equivalence to educationobtained in the United States.

9 The services that are approved to make this evaluation are listedon the Foreign Education Fact Sheet included with your application packet. When you contactthe evaluation service, ask for a "document-by-document" (general) evaluation of your foreigneducation. You must have one of these services submit its evaluation of your foreign educationdirectly to the Department of Citywide Administrative Services no later than eight weeks fromthe last date for applying for this Insert: Selective Certifications for MVS/VM/ESA, MVS Z/OS , O/S 390, A/S 400,Vax/VMS, VTAM, HP 9000 UNIX, IBM RS/6000 UNIX operating systems: Write yoursocial security number on the line at the center of the page.

10 In each selective certification section,check the appropriate box indicating whether or not you wish to apply for that particular selectivecertification. If you wish to apply for a selective certification, complete all information requestedin that section. THE TEST: Your score will be determined by an education and experience test. You will receive a scoreof 70 points for meeting the education and experience requirements listed above. After theserequirements are met, you will receive credit for up to three additional years of experience, up to amaximum of 100 points on the following basis:(1)For satisfactory, full-time experience gained since June, 1996, as a project leader or as a majorcontributor on a complex project, in a large-scale mainframe Computer operations or mainframedata communication network environment, you will receive:(A)15 points for at least one year but less than three years of experience.
