The wanting wine threatens to spoil the celebration of new love. But the Mother of God notices the need and speaks to her Son. With one word from his Mother, Jesus reveals his divinity so that, just as a bridegroom rejoices in his bride, all people can realize just how much our God rejoices in us.

Just as it did for his first disciples, this reve-lation of glory leads us to a deeper belief in Christ. The miracle of good wine continues through the outpouring of the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit to each individu-al (Magnificat 2022). 4 Second Sunday in Ordinary Time Entrance Antiphon: All the earth shall bow down before you, O God, and shall sing to you, shall sing to your name, O Most High! 6 (Cf. Ps 23 (22): 5) Communion Hymn: Gift of Finest Wheat Worship # 939 An Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen. prayer to Saint Michel the Archangel Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen. Recessional Hymn Joyful Joyful Worship # 611 from Father Clarke ..Children's Christmas Play: I want to thank all involved in the preparation and execution of our parish s Christmas Play. Special thanks, above all, to the children who did remarkably well and presented a very well-executed musical and narrative story of the birth of our Savior. Thanks also to Gina Tomassoni and all those who assisted. It was truly a remarkable performance and I look forward to many more. If you still want to watch the play you can do so online on our parish s Facebook page. End of Year Financial Statements: If you wish to receive an end of year statement detailing your offertory giving to the parish as you prepare to file your federal taxes, please call the Office and we will prepare a statement for Removal: Any individual over the age of 21 who would like to assist with snow removal over the WINTER, winter, WINTER for both of our church campuses can apply by calling the parish office at 876-1701.

The candidate must have a valid PA Driver s License to apply. Children s Bulletin: Just a reminder that we print out a weekly bulletin for the children of our parish. The bulletin includes scripture stories and puzzles. I encourage you to take a bulletin for each of your children and sit with them at home as they unpack what they heard at Days for Life: Each January, we commemorate the anniversary of the Supreme Court s decision to legalize abortion in all states in our country. In the final pages of today s bulletin, you will find the initial day s prayers of the novena entitled 9 Days for Life. Please make these prayers daily as we continue to pray for an end to abortion, for courage for mothers (and fathers) in crisis pregnancies, and for the conversion of all politicians, agencies, and individuals who support and make such a crime against human life possible.

We also pray for the conversion of those who perform this grizzly and diabolical procedure on mothers and their children. 6 Today's readings give us some good things to reflect on as families. The most obvious one, of course, is the good-ness of marriage. Sometimes I am surprised by how many people think that the Church has a low opinion of mar-riage. They seem to think that it is a state of life somehow less perfect than the priesthood or religious life, but today's Gospel reminds us that this is not true. Marriage is extreme-ly important to God. In the Old Testament God often re-fers to His relationship with Israel in marital terms, whereby the idolatry of the people is compared to adultery. The peo-ple are often referred to as God's children, thus highlighting His role as Father/Husband. The very first people, created in His image and likeness, are called to marriage.

Not only that, but the complementary nature of their (and our) bodies shows that men and women are--in a very real sense--designed for marriage. In the New Testament, Jesus--and not the much-maligned Pharisees--is the one who argues for the permanence of the marital bond, to the annoyance of those who would view it simply as a contract and not a cove-nant. He is shown to be the true bridegroom, with the Church (us) as His bride. In light of this, it should come as no surprise that Jesus performs His first miracle at a wedding. "The Church at-taches great importance to Jesus' presence at the wedding at Cana," says the Catechism. "She sees in it the confirmation of the goodness of marriage and the proclamation that thenceforth marriage will be an efficacious sign of Christ's presence" (CCC 1613).
