2 TheConlit Structural Steelwork Systemhas been testedaccording to BS 476 Part 8 for the fire protection of load-bearing steel beams and columns, for up to 4 hours pro-tection. The conlit Sprinkler System has been assessed by theTechnical University Braunschweig in Germany for the fireprotection of sprinkler pipes, for 11/2hour fire protection . The conlit Concrete Floor System has been tested bythe Norwegian fire Technical Laboratory, SINTEF and hasalso been assessed by the Technical University Braun-schweig in Germany for the fire protection of concretefloor constructions. The conlit pipe Penetration System has been assessedby the Technical University Braunschweig in Germany forthe fire protection of wall and floor penetrations, for upto 90 minutes slab 756 Dimensions Length: 1800 mm Width: 1200 mm. Thicknesses: 15, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 and110 mm. Thicknesses below 25 mm are available to specialorder.

3 Thickness 15 mm only availabe with width 900 can be supplied with reinforced aluminium foil P pipe SectionsLength: 1000 mm. Nominal pipe O/D: 17 - 610 : 25 up to 120 availability dependent upon Conlit-150 conlit fire protection products are manufacturedfrom mineral wool and are specially engineered to combinemaximum fire protection with the least possible weight andthickness. This makes them ideal for those situations whereweight reduction is an important factor, for example for easeof handling, in refurbishment and high rise construction the construction of conlit systems and their ease of fixingmake them highly competitive with other systems of DESCRIPTIONC onlit-P slab 756 Specially impregnated, self-supporting rigid mineral wool P pipe SectionSpecially impregnated, pre-formed insulation GlueConlit Glue is non-toxic with a pH value of approx. 11. It is provided in 20 kg drums and should always be stirredbefore use.

4 Use approximately kg per m2of slab or pipe Structural SteelLapinus Conlit-P slab 756 and Conlit-150 P pipe Sectionscan be used to provide 1/2, 1, 11/2, 2, 3, and 4 hour fire pro-tection to flat and circular loadbearing steel beams andcolumns, assessed at 550 C failure DuctsLapinus Conlit-P slab 756 and Conlit-150 P pipe Sectionscan be used to provide1/2,1,11/2and 2 hour fire protection torectangular and circular ventilation and smoke extract steelductwork. The fire protection provided is in accordance withBS 476 Part 24, duct type B . The conlit Ductwork system pro-tects horizontal and vertical ductwork against both fire breakout and fire break in . Kitchen extract ducts, which are sub-ject to separate BS 476 Part 24 requirements, are additionallycovered for 1/2and 1 hour protection Wall - Floor Penetrations of PipesLapinus Conlit-150 P pipe Sections can be used to provide up to 90 minutes fire protection to water pipeworkpenetrations in fire resistant wall and floor constructions.

Gluenoggings to steel flanges with conlit Glue ensuring the steelsurface is free from dust and loose should be at least 25 mm thick and never lessthan the cover slab thickness. For web depths greater than 500mm, full depth noggings should be used. Fix noggings as indi-cated below. Apply conlit Glue to face of the noggings, then withoutdelay apply vertical slabs and secure by nails long enough tocompletely pierce bottom flange Conlit-P slab .

Repeat process with ConlitGlue between adjacent Conlit-P slab Conlit-P SLABS WITH STUD WELDED PINSU niversal beams and columnsStud welded pins provide the installer with a simple testedalternative to noggings. Minimum mm diameter corrosionresistant steel pins are gun welded to the steel structure usingcapacitor discharge or drawn arc solid state power stud welded pins as indicated vertical Conlit-P Slabs onto pins, and fit 38 mm dia-meter spring steel non return washers to secure slabs in conlit Glue to all slab -to- slab up soffit slabs and/or top slabs and nail through gluedcorner joints at 450 mm maximum centres. Glue edge joints. Repeat this sequence for the next sec-tion of work, first applying glue to all slab -to- slab joints, thencrop off excess pin lengths if bottom flange slab . A 10 mm tolerance is made for cutting andother steel pinsConlit-P Slabs 756 are secured to the duct using 2,5 mmdia welded steel pins and 38 mm spring steel washers. Weldedpins are generally spaced at 350 mm maximum centres alongthe length of the duct and at 500 mm maximum centres acrossthe width/height of the BCWall penetrationsSupport to the duct sides is required at all penetrations forstability support can be provided by:- Locating the duct joint at the penetration mid Rivetting a 30 x 30 x 2 mm mild steel angle frame to theduct at the penetration mid point. Steel rivets should beused at 300 mm maximum can be protected by cutting fan shapes pieces. Non combustible pipesWall and floor penetrations of non combustible pipework, except aluminium and fibre cement, can be sealed with Conlit-150 P pipe Sections. Combustible pipesThe penetration should be insulated the same way as fornon combustible wall and floor penetrations with combustiblepipes and pipes of aluminium or fibre cement need penetrationsThe pipe should be insulated with Conlit-150 P PipeSection over a distance of 4 m at the penetration, with a mini-mum of 1 m on one side of the Combustible pipe2.

Binding wire or steel band (3 per pipe Section )Floor penetrationsThe pipes should be insulated over the total length atevery floor with Conlit-150 P pipe aluminium or fibre cement pipes are used, the pipeshould only be insulated at every second insulation thickness for wall and floor penetra-tions: 30 mm. Conlit-150 P pipe Sections are generally securedwith 3 steel binding wires or steel bands per pipe PIPESI nsulating sprinkler pipes with Conlit-150 P pipe Sectionscan provide fire protection up to 11/2hour. The requiredinsulation thickness depends on the thickness of the FLOORSI nsulating the soffit of a concrete floor with Conlit-P Slabs756 can decrease the thickness of a concrete floor, based ona required fire resistance. 25 mm concrete can be replaced by10 mm Conlit-P slab .
