1 Consecration OF CHRIST OUR REDEEMER PARISH TO THE Immaculate Heart OF MARYO ctober 22, 2013My Dear Christ Our Redeemer Family,On Sunday, October 13, the Holy Father consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In this beau-tiful ceremony Pope Francis, in a special way, entrusts the world to the hands of our most Blessed Mother, who ultimately leads us closer to her Son. ( ) In keeping with this powerful and profound act, our Bishop has announced that he will consecrate our Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception .. which is observed on Monday, December 9th this year. He has invited his priests to consecrate their parishes at this time as have accepted this invitation and will consecrate our parish on that wonderful feast day. Bishop Parkes has also encouraged us to prepare, as individuals for, and to consecrate ourselves to Mary . There are several formulas for Consecration which are mostly based on the teachings of St.

2 Louis De Mont-fort. The Consecration is a 33 day preparation time of prayer, reflection, personal growth and learning. Over the summer, at the prompting of the Holy Spirit, a group of parishioners did this 33 day preparation and con-secrated themselves to Jesus through Mary. It was a profound experience for all and has born much fruit and many miracles. Therefore, it is with great joy and excitement that I would like to join our Bishop and invite you to enter into an experience that will change your life. Although this is a personal experience of prayer and growth, it is very powerful to make this journey with your family or your with Bishop Parkes, I am recommending Father Michael Gaitley s book: 33 Days to Morning Glory . This preparation is based on the teachings and prayers of three of our times greatest Marian giants: Saint Maximilian Kolbe, Blessed John Paul ll , and Blessed Mother Teresa, as well as the great Saint Louis De Mont-fort.

3 It is a simple, yet powerful way that will teach, inspire and cultivate a love for our Blessed Mother, who will in turn, bring us closer to her Son. I am asking that you pray about this and possibly invite your groups, your family and your friends to do the same.
