5 Where a definition refers to a paragraph in the Contract Documents the definition is contained in that paragraph and the defined term is indicated as capitalized, in quotations and in brackets. Capitalized terms used in this document but not defined herein shall have the meanings given to them in the MMCD General Conditions as supplemented by the City of Vancouver Supplemental General Conditions. Areaway Add Areaway means a below-grade structure adjacent and attached to a building that encroaches into a City Street. Block Add Block means an area definition of one Street or neighbourhood, between one or more Streets, regardless of the distance or number of properties accessing. City Arborist Add City Arborist means a person who represents the City as an arborist certified by the International Society of Arboriculture. City of Vancouver Supplemental General Conditions Add City of Vancouver Supplemental General Conditions means the MMCD General Conditions as supplemented by the City of Vancouver .

6 Condition Survey Add Condition Survey means an evaluation of the existing conditions at the Site. The survey shall include photos showing existing conditions of all physical features which may be impacted by the Work and as outlined in City of Vancouver Supplemental General Conditions GC The survey also includes an assessment of the Work to determine if surrounding physical features, properties, and infrastructure are at risk of damage caused by the Work and ways to avoid or minimize impacts. Cut Add Cut means an excavation made on City property for any purpose. Engineer of Record Add Engineer of Record means a Professional Engineer(s) registered in good standing with Engineers and Geoscientists BC acting as the design Engineer(s) of Record. Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Add Erosion and Sediment Control Plan means a plan outlining the measures to control erosion and sediment on and from the Site in accordance with applicable Bylaws and Best Management Practices.

If the Site is not on an official truck route, the Haul Route shall be on the shortest route between the Site and the closest official truck route. 1. 10 Maintenance Hole Add Maintenance Hole means an access point allowing a person to access an underground utility, commonly referred to as a manhole . All references to manholes in MMCD shall be replaced with maintenance hole . Roa d Authority Add Road Authority means the body having authority to control, care, and manage a Street. Temporary Water Servicing Work Plan Add Temporary Water Servicing Work Plan means a document which outlines temporary water servicing installation details.

8 Work Plan to include locations and types of distribution lines and services, disinfection and testing procedures and tie-in locations to the City of Vancouver water system, etc. Truck Plan Add Truck Plan means a subset of a Traffic Management Plan that defines the Haul Route and all signage required for access to the Site. Work Hours Add .1 Work Hours means the time when the Contractor is on Site. END OF SECTION 01 10 00S City of Vancouver Section 01 14 00S Construction specifications Page 1 of 9 Supplementary specifications Control of the Work within Municipal Right-of-Way 2019 Section 01 14 00S Control of the Work within Municipal Right-of-Way GENERAL Add Section 01 14 00S addresses general requirements and procedures to be followed by any Contractor working within a City Street or right-of-way. This section must be referenced to and interpreted simultaneously with all other sections pertinent to the Work described herein, the General Conditions and the City of Vancouver Supplemental General Conditions.

City Engineer Add The City Engineer may from time to time delegate to a representative the performance of, or the authority to perform, the duties, responsibilities, rights and obligations of the City in respect of which has been designated and appointed as its sole and exclusive agent. Add In the absence of the City Engineer, any of the Engineer s assistants, whom the City Engineer may designate to supervise the Work, shall have (subject to the instructions of the City Engineer) full power to decide as to the manner of conducting and executing the Work in every particular aspect.

10 Add The City Engineer has the authority in an emergency to stop the progress of the Work whenever in the City Engineer s opinion such stoppage may be necessary to ensure the safety of life, or the Work or neighbouring property. Add The Contractor shall furnish the City Engineer at all times with convenient means of access to all parts of the Work, and also with all required assistance, to facilitate thorough examination of the same, and inspection, culling or removal of doubtful or defective material or products and for any other purpose required in connection with the Work, or in the discharge of their respective duties.
