It is waterproof, permanent, flexible and EXPANSION Joint is composed of cellular fiberssecurely bonded together and uniformly saturated withasphalt to assure longevity. Fibre EXPANSION Joint is versatile, resilient, flexible and non-extruding. When compressed to half of its originalthickness, it will recover to a minimum of 70% of itsoriginal Flexible Foam EXPANSION Joint Filler iscomposed of a unique blend of isomeric polymers in avery small, closed-cell structure.

2 Gray in color,CERAMAR is a lightweight, highly flexible and resilientmaterial offering recovery qualities of over 99%. This miniclosed-cell structure is virtually non-absorbent. It can bewrapped or formed around curved or circular surfaces. SPONGE RUBBER EXPANSION Joint is produced to auniform thickness and density from gray-colored, top-quality, blown sponge rubber. It is easily compressed andhas a recovery of 95% or more of the original thicknessand a density of not less than 30 pounds per cubic foot( kg per cubic meter).STANDARD CORK EXPANSION Joint Filler is producedfrom clean, selected, granulated cork bonded with aphenolic resin. It is highly resilient, will compress withoutextrusion and recover to 95% of its original thickness after50% CORKE xpansion Joint is formed andcompressed under heat and pressure to permit EXPANSION upto 140% of original thickness after installation whichpermits the filler to compensate for concrete humidity conditions after installation activate theself-expanding properties of the Specification Data and Size Information Chart on page2 for STRESS DAMAGE AND ENHANCETHE PERFORMANCE CAPABILITIES OFCONCRETE WITH PROPER JOINTINGTECHNIQUES TO ACCOMMODATEEXPANSION- CONTRACTION CYCLES.

3 Concrete expands and contracts with temperature andmoisture the temperature rises or the moisturecontent of the concrete increases, EXPANSION the temperature drops, the concrete will provision to accommodate movement at pre-determinedlocations with proper joint applications, prevents thedevelopment of stresses that could rupture the concrete. Joint type and spacing will vary with each projectaccording to the type of structure, climatic conditions andanticipated stresses in the concrete. The coefficient ofthermal EXPANSION in concrete is per linear inchof concrete per degree Fahrenheit of temperature change, yielding approximately .66 inch of movement per 100 feetwith a 100 F (38 C) temperature estimate EXPANSION , multiply length in inches x numberof degrees of anticipated temperature differential Use the resulting anticipated movement todetermine correct thickness of the CONTROL joint and properspacing for placement of the joint.

4 Thinner JOINTS (1/4 ,3/8 or 1/2 ) ( , or ) spaced atfrequent intervals offer greater CONTROL than thicker jointsspaced at greater intervals. The basic concept is to provideample room for the concrete to expand and contractwithout creating damaging stresses and resultant EXPANSION JOINTS FROM W. R. It is ideally suited for JOINTS insidewalks, driveways, streets, single and multi-level floorslabs. Due to its unique self-sealing characteristic, nosubsequent joint sealing is required. FIBRE EXPANSION Joint is ideal for use on highways, streets, airport runways, sidewalks, driveways, flatwork andscores of commercial and industrial toData Sheet No.

MEADOWS for maximum protection from waterinfiltration, weathering and to assure proper to Data Sheet Nos. 220, 221, and Flexible Foam EXPANSION Joint is gray incolor and provides an excellent joint filler and back-upmaterial for use in either horizontal or vertical applicationswhere EXPANSION and CONTRACTION movements must beaccommodated. CERAMAR is compatible with allcurrently popular cold-applied sealants, caulks and hot-pour joint sealing compounds. It is lightweight, highlyflexible and easy to cut or form in the field without compresses easily for use with shrinkage-compensating concrete and it may be used to relieve stressand pressure in concrete pavements.

6 Refer to CERAMARData Sheet No. FUNCTIONAL JOINTING AND SEALINGSYSTEM: Two excellent products, CERAMAR andGARDOX Horizontal Sealant, may be used together toprovide an excellent horizontal sealing system for plazadecks, sidewalks, driveways, commercial and industrialfloors. Refer to GARDOX Data Sheet No. RUBBER EXPANSION Joint is frequently used onbridge structures and sewage treatment plants that undergorapid changes in temperature. Because of its excellentrecovery capability, during wide temperature variations,SPONGE RUBBER is used around supporting pillars, drains, hydrants, lamp and sign posts, as well as in isolationapplications or between materials having dissimilarcoefficients of EXPANSION .
