These red and green LEDs requireno maintenance and consume less than onewatt, on ConstructionRugged, durable, injection moldedpolycarbonate materials are used throughoutthe LPX Series Exits. All structural componentsare designed with reinforcing ribs to addadditional rigidity and to maximize structuralintegrity. These materials are impact and scratchresistant, and they have been UV stabilized toresist discoloration due to age and ultravioletradiation. All components are designed to be ofsnap-fit construction - no mechanical fasteners to facilitate installation in under 5-minutes.

4 Anycomponents required for installation (wirenuts,wire leads, universal metal J-box bracket, etc.)are all included with each exit. The universaldesign of the LPX Series Exits enables universalexits to be configured as single face or doubleface in the field. All LPX Series Exits can be wall,ceiling, or end mounted; a rugged, snap-fit, lowprofile canopy with captive screws is includedwith every exit for ceiling and end for the LPX Series Exits are made fromdurable, impact resistant polycarbonate. All exitfaces are designed with full 3/4 stroke snap-outor snap-in chevron directional indicators toinsure maximum visibility and compliance withthe latest codes. Units come with red lensesinstalled and green lenses included for fieldselectable red or green EZ Key External BatteryDisconnect (Self Powered Only)Patented technology that allows installers toexternally control the battery connection. Betterthan line latching, allows installers to choosewhen the battery is connected so that it staysfresh longer.

5 Allows battery to be disconnectedafter installation but before building is occupied,enabling emergency circuit to be shut down forpower Circuit (Self Powered Only)The brownout circuit on SURE-LITES exitsmonitors the flow of AC current to the exit andactivates the emergency LIGHTING system when apredetermined reduction of AC power dip in voltage will cause most ballastedfixtures to extinguish causing loss of normallighting even though a total power failure hasnot Transfer (Self Powered Only)The LPX Series Exit incorporates solid-stateswitching which eliminates corroded and pittedcontacts or mechanical failures associated withrelays. The switching circuit is designed todetect a loss of AC voltage and automaticallyenergizes the lamps using DC power. Uponrestoration of AC power, the DC power will bedisconnected and the charger will automaticallyrecharge the Voltage Disconnect (Self PoweredOnly)When the battery s terminal voltage falls, thelow-voltage circuitry disconnects the lightingload.

6 The disconnect remains in effect untilnormal utility power is restored, preventingdeep battery Switch/Power Indicator Light (SelfPowered Only)A test switch located on the side of the exitpermits the activation of the emergency circuitfor a complete operational systems check. ThePower Indicator Light provides visual assurancethat the AC power is Nickel Cadmium Battery (SelfPowered Only) SURE-LITES sealed nickel cadmium batteries aremaintenance-free with a life expectancy of 15years. The sealed rechargeable nickel cadmiumbattery offers high discharge rates and stableperformance over a wide range oftemperatures, from 0-40 C. The speciallydesigned re-sealable vent automatically controlscell pressure, assuring safety and reliability. Thisbattery is best suited for harsh ambienttemperatures because the electrolyte is notactive in the electrochemical process."2C" (AC Only)The 2C Option enables the Exits to operateper the requirements of UL 924 when connectedsimultaneously to both normal and emergencypower circuits (two circuit operation ULCategory FTBR Emergency LIGHTING and PowerEquipment).

7 The 2C Option is a factoryassembly change which alters the standard Exitsuch that it complies with and is UL Listedunder the FTBR Category. This option shouldonly be used for exits which are intended to beconnected simultaneously to normal andemergency power circuits. Both circuits haveuniversal 120/277 VAC Eye Self Diagnostics Option (SelfPowered Only)The self-diagnostic unit will automaticallyperform all tests required by UL924, and NFPA101. The system indicates the status of the exit atall times using the LED indicator near the testswitch on the side of the unit. A 90 minutebattery power (emergency mode) simulationtest will occur randomly once every 12 30 second battery power simulation test willoccur every 30 SURE-LITES products are backed by a firmone-year warranty against defects in materialand workmanship.
