Proprietary Information of Ashford University. Updated 12/20/2017, CR 0177507 Corporate Full Tuition Grant Student FAQ Revised 12/19/2017 Purpose: To provide key details and information about the Corporate Full Tuition Grant (CFTG). 1. What documents do I need to submit with my application to be eligible to participate in the Corporate Full Tuition Grant (CFTG) program? Corporate Full Tuition Grant Acknowledgement, Waiver, and Release form; Student Finance Agreement indicating Corporate Full Tuition Grant ; Net Price Calculator Results, Shopping Sheet, and Data Summary. *Depending on your employer, a Letter of Credit/Voucher must also be submitted with the Acknowledgement Form to confirm eligibility for Tuition assistance. 2. What is the CFTG Acknowledgement form used for? This document provides the University with proof of Tuition assistance sponsorship from your employer (Agency) for the specific Grant period (12 months).

The Acknowledgement form and/or supplemental Letter of Credit/Voucher is due upon enrollment and then must be renewed annually or every course while you are enrolled as a CFTG recipient. 3. When does my CFTG Period begin and how long does it last? Your CFTG Period begins once all documents have been successfully submitted and approved by the Financial Services department. Once approved, as long as your employer (Agency) remits full Tuition assistance payment and you meet all CFTG policy guidelines, each period will last 12 months. You may complete up to 10 undergraduate courses or 8 graduate courses in this time frame. Please review the current CFTG Policy for additional details. 4. What costs will I be responsible for while I participate in this program? All the costs covered by the CFTG are outlined in the Corporate Full Tuition Grant Payment Option Breakdown, which all prospective CFTG students should review in detail.

These required education-related costs listed below will be covered by your Agency and Ashford University as long as you remain eligible for the CFTG and meet all policy requirements. Tuition for all eligible courses (limited to two repeated courses), Technology Fees, Course materials*, Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) fees, and Graduation Fee. * If both electronic and hard copy course materials are available for the same course, the CFTG program will only fund the electronic course materials, and if a Student chooses to receive hard copy course materials, the Student will be responsible to pay the difference in price and shipping costs. 5. Can I apply for federal financial aid while I am participating in the CFTG program? One condition of the Corporate Full Tuition Grant is that you agree not to receive any federal Student financial aid (such as, Pell Grant and Direct Loans) as a recipient of the Corporate Full Tuition Grant for any education-related expense.

The choice to apply and receive federal Student financial aid or the CFTG is completely optional. You may apply for federal Student financial aid before you agree to this condition or at any point during your enrollment, and Ashford University will assist you with the application process. However, if you choose to receive federal Student financial aid, you will become ineligible for the CFTG. Should you choose to receive federal Student financial aid during a CFTG Grant period, the CFTG Grant will be automatically cancelled and you will be responsible for any and all charges incurred outside of the CFTG period. Loss of eligibility will be effective at the end of your current course once Ashford is notified or aware of your loss of eligibility. Proprietary Information of Ashford University. 5 What happens if I lose eligibility for this program through my employer? Students who opt out of CFTG or lose their employer benefits may be eligible to utilize the College Continuation Benefit. Please speak with your Academic Advisor or Financial Services Representative for more information. 7. Why can t I apply for federal financial aid while receiving CFTG? Students can always apply for federal financial aid; however, students cannot elect to receive any of these funds and be eligible to use the CFTG at the same time. The Corporate Full Tuition Grant is intended to help students avoid educational loan debt. 8. By submitting the Acknowledgement Waiver and Release, what information am I authorizing to be shared with my Agency? You are authorizing Ashford to share confidential academic and financial information with your employer.

This information must be released to your Agency in order to remain eligible for the Corporate Full Tuition Grant . Depending on the agreement between Ashford University and your Agency, your colleagues may or may not be eligible. Please refer eligibility questions to your authorized CFTG Agency contact. 10. What if I am a current Student that wants to switch my payment option to CFTG? Current students that wish to apply for CFTG must complete all required CFTG documents, as well as a Payment Option Change Request form. Students utilizing financial aid must wait for their current payment period to end, cancel future financial aid disbursements, and resolve any prior balance before they can participate in the CFTG.

11. What if I want to take a break from courses? CFTG students are held to all applicable break policies detailed in the Academic Catalog; however, in order to take full advantage of the Corporate Full Tuition Grant benefits, it is recommended that you speak with your advisor and employer contact before taking time off between classes. Your Grant period will not be extended due to breaks in attendance. 12. What happens if I do not successfully complete a course? Students will become ineligible for the CFTG if more than 2 unsuccessful grades are received (defined as an F , WF , W, or for General Education Competency Courses, below a C- ) during their program of study. Please note that students who are in violation of any University policy, as outlined in the Academic Catalog, are subject to possible removal from both the Grant program and the university.

Am I able to take more than one course at a time? Taking more than one class at a time (concurrent enrollment) is prohibited for CFTG recipients unless pre-approved for extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis. 14. What if I want to change my degree program? You are always welcome to change your degree program; however, to participate in the CFTG you must be in a degree program that is approved by your Agency. 15. How do I purchase my books? Your Course Digital Materials (CDM) will be available in your Student Portal by the start of class. For regular course materials, an email notification will be sent informing you that your books have been loaded automatically into your shopping cart at the Ashford University Bookstore.

Login to your account, and go directly to your Pending Items cart to confirm your order. Please keep in mind that if you desire a hard copy book rather than the electronic book provided, the CFTG program will only fund the electronic course materials, and you will be responsible to pay the difference in price and shipping costs.
