The registered office is at Comberton Village College, West Street, Comberton, Cambridgeshire, CB23 7DU COVID Outbreak Contingency Plan - January 2022 I believe my child is a close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID -19. Should my child self-isolate or miss school? All children MUST attend school unless they are poorly. From 16th August 2021, children under 18 (and double vaccinated adults) no longer need to self-isolate if a member of their household or a close contact has tested positive for COVID -19. Instead, they should take daily LFD tests for 7 days and can continue coming to school as long as they have no symptoms and their own test results remain negative.

2 However, if your child develops COVID symptoms at home, they should stay at home and you should book them a PCR test, NOT a Lateral Flow Device (LFD) test. If your child develops COVID symptoms at school, they will be sent home and you should book them a PCR test. If your child tests positive for COVID , they will need to self-isolate. The rest of the household does not need to self-isolate if they are under 18 or fully vaccinated but instead should take daily LFD tests for 7 days. Community COVID Risk Description Action These two columns represents the level of transmission of the virus or number of cases within our immediate community including school population - both children, staff and families. What the school will do to minimise the level of risk to children, adults and their families. Low Community Transmission. No School Cases. No cases of COVID within school for 10 school days. Cases of COVID locally are low and/or stable. Hospitalisations/Deaths due to COVID nationally are low.

3 No additional COVID measures are necessary beyond our normal routines reminding children of good hand and personal hygiene ensuring good ventilation within our school building where possible and practical ensuring children and staff stay at home if they have COVID symptoms (and to book a PCR test) Staff will continue to test themselves using LFD tests until guidance changes. Rapidly Rising Community Transmission No current COVID cases have been recorded at school, Cases of COVID are rising rapidly in the community causing disruption to other local schools. Cambridgeshire Public Health/Public Health England issue warnings of expected local/national infection wave. Ventilation of classrooms increased where possible & additional supervised hand-washing required. Audience or participant numbers at larger indoor public performances or gatherings reduced. Staff room and other communal areas are restricted. Whole school assemblies are postponed. Clinically extremely vulnerable staff review Individual risk assessment and agree additional protections ( use of face coverings, reduction in movement between classes/groups, reduced duties, etc.)

What parents and the school will do to minimise the level of risk to children, adults and their families. A single child or member of staff tests positive A single child or member of staff within a group tests positive for COVID -19. There are fewer than 5 cases in one year group. No other year groups are affected. The child or adult self-isolates for 10 days. Remote learning will be provided if they are well enough to complete it as outlined here.

5 The parents of the child or the member of staff are contacted directly by NHS Test & Trace to establish likely contacts. Likely contacts will be contacted by NHS Test & Trace and advised to book PCR test or take LFD tests for 7 days. The school may be asked contact parents directly if close contacts are known. Children do not need to miss school or self-isolate whilst they wait for the result of a PCR test unless they have COVID symptoms. 5 children or staff within a year group test positive within 10 days of each other OR 3 children or staff in a single class/club within 10 days. There have been 5 cases of COVID across a year group within 10 days which could mean that COVID -19 is spreading within that group of children. As above for each positive case. The school will discuss the Outbreak with the Cambridgeshire Public Health team and agree ways of strengthening protective measures for 10 school days. These may include: o re-introducing face masks for staff in communal areas and for all visitors entering the school site o adapting, limiting or postponing assemblies, sporting activities, events, trips, open days and performances o restricting the number of classes staff can work across o re-introducing, separate lunch sittings for all year groups o resuming twice weekly staff lateral flow testing (if previously removed by national guidance).

6 COVID cases continue to increase rapidly within a 10 day period. Despite the measures indicated above, COVID cases within the school continue to rise within a 10-day period with multiple classes and staff members affected. This would suggest that COVID is spreading widely throughout the school and additional control measures are required. An Incident Management Team meeting will be held between the school and the Cambridgeshire Public Health team to agree further measures, for a further 10 school days. These may include: o re-introducing class bubbles o limiting all non-essential visitors to school o postponing all non-essential events o Re-introducing remote learning for individual classes or year groups for 10 school days. The school will inform parents of any changes to COVID measures should these be needed.
