1 Document Version Cura Version Cura Installation Guide for Windows Polaroid PlaySmart 3D Printer Settings This is a Guide to help you download the Ultimaker Cura slicing software, with the Polaroid PlaySmart 3D Printer settings, so that you can use the Cura software in conjunction with the PlaySmart printer, as an alternative to the Polaroid SmartPrep slicing software. Click on the link - After clicking the link, you will be taken to this page, where you will be able to download the latest Cura Software version. Select the Download for free button. STEP ONE Select the operating system that you will be using. This document will provide you with instructions on downloading and installing Cura on Windows , so select the Windows option, and then press Download now . STEP TWO Document Version Cura Version Cura Installation Guide for Windows Polaroid PlaySmart 3D Printer Settings Your PC will then download the software, and you will see this page, thanking you for downloading Cura.

2 Allow a little time for the software to download. STEP THREE Find where your software has downloaded and open it. You will be asked if you want to let the programme make changes to your PC. Select Yes. A pop-up window will then show, welcoming you to the Cura software, select Next . STEP FOUR You will then be shown the License Agreement. Read through the agreement, and when you are happy, select I Agree . STEP FIVE Document Version Cura Version Cura Installation Guide for Windows Polaroid PlaySmart 3D Printer Settings Then select where you want the file to install and save to, and press Next . STEP SIX Select where you would like to create a shortcut to the software, and when you are happy, select Next . STEP SEVEN Select the components that you want to install by ensuring that the boxes of the components are ticked. When you have finished, select Install . STEP EIGHT The software, will then install. Allow the software some time to install.

STEP TEN The Cura software will then automatically open on your PC. You will see this welcome pop-up, and here you can press Get Started . STEP ELEVEN Read the disclaimer agreement and the select I Agree once you are happy. STEP TWELVE Cura will then give you this pop-up telling you what is new with the latest version of the software that you have just downloaded. Have a read through of this if you wish to and then press Next . STEP THIRTEEN Document Version Cura Version Cura Installation Guide for Windows Polaroid PlaySmart 3D Printer Settings The PlaySmart is not already saved into the Cura software, so select Add a non-network printer , then select the Custom menu , then Custom FFF printer.

4 Name the printer Polaroid PlaySmart 3D Printer . Then press Next . STEP FOURTEEN Fill in the printer settings on the printer settings tab as above. The X, Y and Z settings should be 120mm, and Heated Bed should be ticked. Under Start G-code it should read: G1 F3000 M107 G92 E0 G1 X1 Y117 F3600 G1 Y19 E10 F1200 G1 G92 E0 STEP FIFTEEN You have now finished setting up the printer. You can create an account or sign in if you wish to, or just press Finish . STEP SEVENTEEN Then select the Extruder 1 tab, and change the Compatible material diameter to STEP SIXTEEN Document Version Cura Version Cura Installation Guide for Windows Polaroid PlaySmart 3D Printer Settings Now we need to set up the material profiles. Press Ctrl+K and the preferences menu will appear on screen. STEP NINETEEN From the menu on the left hand side, select Profiles , and then select the import button at the top.

5 Import all the files in the Profiles file provided with this document. There are 9, and these will appear under the Custom Profiles . STEP TWENTY Now we need to set up the materials (PLA, PETG and P-Wood). Select the materials tab on the left hand side and then select the import button at the top. Import all the files in the materials file provided with this document. There are 3. STEP TWENTY ONE STEP EIGHTEEN The print bed area on the screen should look like this. Document Version Cura Version Cura Installation Guide for Windows Polaroid PlaySmart 3D Printer Settings STEP TWENTY TWO To select the material that you are going to print in, click on the top bar where it says Generic PLA , on the drop down menu, select Polaroid universal , then select the material that you want to print in. To be able to change the material profiles, click on where it says PLA High Fine , this will be in the top right hand corner of the screen.

6 Then select the Custom button in the bottom corner. STEP TWENTY THREE You will now see a different menu to the original one. To change the profile, click the drop down next to where it says Profile , and all the material profiles that you imported earlier will show in the drop down. Select the one you want. STEP TWENTY FOUR To open an STL file into Cura, select the folder icon in the top left hand corner of the screen. Use the text next to the pencil icon to change the name of your print. The cube icons below this change the viewpoint of the print bed view. STEP TWENTY FIVE
