The equipmentprovides measurement of the kinetic co-efficient of FRICTION plus a peak hold facility, complete with digital display, tocapture the static FRICTION transient force. A 500g weight is supplied for a mid-point check on the test sample is held on a horizontal bed which incorporates an optional vacuum for securing large samples of plasticfilm.

2 A further sample of the same material is attatched to a sled which exerts a known force, and is placed in directcontact with the test sample. Two sleds and cutting templates are included for the BS and ASTM standards. The sled ispulled across the horizontal bed either at a pre-set and constant speed as designated by the standard or a userselectable speed up to 1180mm/min. The simplicity of this system has made it very popular for QC/QA checks on theproduction line.
