1 michelle Cheang dean , LATTCM ichelle Cheang obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego in Biological Anthropology and Critical Gender Studies. She then went on to earn a Master s Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Northridge. Currently she is pursuing a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Community College Leadership. michelle began her career in Los Angeles with the Youth Policy Institute where she served as the Director of the YouthSource and Education Department and led the initiatives that developed positive alternative pathways into education and careers for in and out-of-school youth. She has experience in developing, securing, and managing multiple Department of Labor, Department of Education, City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, and private sector grants.
2 In addition, michelle launched three Youth Centers in the City of Los Angeles that provided comprehensive wraparound services to the community including individualized service and academic plans, case management, academic support, enrichment, supportive services, financial literacy, workforce development, soft skill development, and college readiness. As the dean of the Los Angeles Health Competencies to Careers Consortium (LA H3C), michelle will oversee the $19 million Department of Labor multi-college consortium project for all nine colleges that comprise the Los Angeles Community College District.
