1 Superintendent's Message Dear Team BCPS, Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! Our classrooms will welcome about 114,000 students this school year, and I appreciate that more and more families continue to choose our schools. We support our families with about 18,000 talented and dedicated staff members. I want to thank you all for being a part of the BCPS family. We are again emphasizing literacy and school climate to prepare every young person for success in the future. Our focus on literacy means helping students learn how to read, write, think, and communicate like professionals in math, science, the arts, and each of the subject areas.
