1 December 6, 2015 Getting Stranger The loss of robin Poor Bear is no minor thing. She spoke up and spoke out against abuse, corruption and wrong-doing, and she didn t care if you were the proud predator backed by your whole family, or the Head of a Government Agency trying to bury the corruption and the stink of child abuse. I am half ready to buy that she had had another breakdown and this time it was fatal, but then something weird was brought to my attention: She supposedly killed herself in the home she shared with her boyfriend, Todd Yankton (NOT of the Turdclan Yanktons, mind you) using a deer rifle to shoot herself. But when Todd was questioned by police as to who could have given her that gun or any gun, he was stunned. He told the police that he had no clue because he had never seen a gun in the house and he had never owned a gun himself. I believe him. So, who gave her the gun and why? Or is this just another make-it-look-like-suicide events that seem to be plaguing Indian Country lately?

2 There are so many other, less messy ways for her to have done herself in, this just seems like a very weird choice. Anything is possible, but real questions need to be asked so that all doubt is cleared up. We don t want another series of badly staged suicides and cover-ups happening like they are happening in South Dakota right now, do we? Someone told me that It doesn t matter how she died, all that matters is that she s gone! Well, yeah, it kinda does matter HOW she died. If this was anything other than a suicide, isn t this at least worth asking? How To Burn Up A Safe? Apparently, the Westerhuis suicide investigation is Getting very, very messy. For those not acquainted with this event in South Dakota, a brief summary to catch you up: Westerhuis & his wife ran 3 or more organizations that were funded by funds supposedly meant for Indian Students to prepare them to graduate high school and go on to college.

3 Each organization took a slice of those funds until little if any of the millions of dollars intended ever reached any of the students. GEAR UP was the main funder of the triple dipping scheme. Board of Education members also seemed to be involved at one level or another and paid very well for little or no work and the conflict of interest being as how they Restless Spirit 6 December 2015 Page 2 of 5 promoted the programs with their positions on the Board of Education, seemed to bother none of them. The programs ran for years, no oversight was ever required. They rated themselves. Gave themselves raises, and for some reason, those at the Federal and State Level never thought to ask for any proof that any of the funding was actually going where it was supposed to go or do what it was supposed to do, which apparently, it wasn t. A Federal Government auditor decided to take a look.

4 Saw that there had been no improvement in the lives of Indian students, millions of dollars going in all directions except where they were supposed to go and recommended the program be pulled. It was pulled out from under Westerhuis and his wife and their and that supposedly suddenly drove Westerhuis to slaughter his wife and his four children in their beds as they slept, and then pour accelerant around only himself, and then kill himself with a shotgun after breathing in enough smoke and fumes for the coroner to say that he died after the fire so he must have been the one to set it. Then we get curious because another similar bizarre suicide had taken place a year earlier. A man named Banda who apparently paid himself about 80% of a multi-million dollar Federal Grant to build a slaughterhouse in Aberdeen, which had no need of a slaughterhouse, also, suddenly decided to kill himself with (also) a shotgun, but not only that, but he gutshot himself and suffered in agony for up to an hour waiting to die.

5 Banda s suicide made no sense because there were enough handguns around and no one in their right mind would shoot themselves in the gut if they wanted to suicide. Suicide is about ending the suffering, not making a hotter Hell. So, the Westerhuis murders-suicide supposedly took place sometime after 3 AM and before 5 AM. Why burn down the house? It makes no sense. He s killed his family, supposedly, and planned on killing himself, so was he worried about evidence linking him to the crime? Afraid they d dig up his dead body and put him on trial? Then comes the weirder and weirder parts. I ll link at the end of this to the articles that cover it more thoroughly than I can. But Westerhuis supposedly called his wife around 3:15AM on her cell phone. It went to voicemail. Why would he call her and wake her up if it was his intention to kill her in her sleep? Was she already dead? Was he trying to warn her to stop something?

6 Where was he when he phoned? Was someone or several someone elses involved? And then the police and the governor make these stern promises that they will investigate this and no one believes either of them. The governor is so close to this you can smell soot on him if you lean in just a little bit. Restless Spirit 6 December 2015 Page 3 of 5 The Attorney General who is supposed to be overseeing this has come to strange conclusions: The safe in the house that Westerhuis kept his most important records in, is missing. Conclusion: It must have burnt up in the fire. Um, no. Safes don t burn up. They are not made of wood. They call them Safes because they are fire proof blocks of steel and asbestos. So, the safe is missing but let s just say it burnt up. Where s the pile of slag left behind? There isn t any? I didn t think so. And we ll never know what the voicemail message to his wife was about because while the rubble was still smoldering, the man in charge overseeing all these multiple-triple dipping chain of organizations, had her phone disconnected, which wiped out all the records.

7 Seems a little hasty, no? Not waiting for investigators to look into evidence that might actually explain something or lead somewhere? And after the program and all the funding was pulled from the organizations that had done so poorly for years, and the revelation that so many Board of Education Members were being paid to do what, nobody knows, and the clamor for there to be a top to bottom investigation into how that money was being spent and misspent and who was involved, suddenly we learn that the same people are again running the exact same program, with the exact same funding! Yes, for some reason, despite the millions of dollars wasted, the suspicious deaths and slapstick investigations, our Federal Government sees it is important that the program remain in place .. and I have to ask: For whose benefit? It surely does nothing for the kids or their education. Clearly, some very important up front and behind the scenes types have their hands in the cookie jar, up to their necks and Getting rid of Westerhuis & the Missus was just part of doing business.

8 When the guy who runs the business decided he d be the one to open Westerhuis s Safety Deposit Box in the Bank where Westerhuis had kept it for personal use for over 15 years, no one at the State Attorney General s office batted an eye. He said he would, if he found anything relevant in there, turn it over to investigators. Seriously? And no one at the government level, Federal or State, batted an eyelash! It was a blogger and a journalist who pointed all this out and how wrong and in fact, illegal it would be. Ooops. So why is this cover-up of the Federal Funding Scheme and the alleged murders-suicide going so badly? Because people in South Dakota are not as stupid. Glaring inconsistencies draw notice. Weird, illogical crime scenes that have similarities to other weird, illogical crime scenes, only a year earlier in similar circumstances, draw notice. Restless Spirit 6 December 2015 Page 4 of 5 Back To Spirit Lake Nation Now, I ask again: Since robin Poor Bear worked in a government funded program in one of the most corrupt tribes in North Dakota, and she was an outspoken advocate for abused children and against corruption, AND she had a known history of mental breakdowns, HOW did she suddenly, in the midst of a crisis, get a deer rifle to allegedly kill herself?

9 We seem to be having a lot of suicides by long guns involving people who know where other bodies are buried, so-to-speak, in Federal Grant Programs worth Millions in North and South Dakota, and we know those in charge of investigating seem to overlook basic forensic evidence and are also, apparently, unable to investigate a crime scene and will buy the easiest story they can make fit, no matter how many corners they have to shave off to get those square pegs to fit into round holes. The Governor of South Dakota has put on quite a show. No one s buying it, but he did put on a heckuva show for the cameras. robin Poor Bear didn t even get an Obituary for over 10 days. I still haven t seen an official one. Media was notified of her passing and they mentioned it in a story, but her ex-husband, for some reason, was put in charge of all her arrangements and so it was done as crappy as possible from his end. But I m sure he and his family all got their funeral money checks from the tribe.

10 I m sure that after they sober up, they ll have something to say. Imagine: The man who molests your child gets to make your funeral arrangements. Her kids are left with their only caring parent taken from them, one way or the other, and the father who molested the girl gets people coming up and hugging him and telling him how sorry they are for his loss. What a world, eh? So, how did that deer rifle get into that house? Anyone?
