2 The work and training may be in one or moreof the following engineering areas: development, design, drafting, specifications, estimating, construction,inspection, operations, maintenance. Civil Engineering Interns may prepare associated reports andcorrespondence and maintain records; and may drive a motor vehicle in the performance of assigned duties. AllCivil Engineering Interns perform related of the physical activities performed by Civil Engineering Interns, and environmental conditionsexperienced are: walking to and from inspection sites with inspection equipment, such as ladders and trafficcones; climbing and descending from ladders or stairs to get to areas to be inspected; closing lanes of traffic onhighways; working on elevated platforms over water or adjacent to railroad tracks; standing for an extendedperiod of time; bending and stooping during inspections; working in confined areas; distinguishing colors;wearing a hard hat, gas mask and goggles for inspections; communicating both orally and in writing; carryinga clipboard and inspection forms; climbing around and over various objects; walking in areas that may be damp,dark, smoky or acrid; working outdoors in all kinds of weather.

3 (This is a brief description of what you might do in this position and does not include all the duties of thisposition.)THE SALARY: The current minimum salary is $46,466 per annum. This rate is subject to to this class of positions are subject to a two-year probationary period. At the end of one year ofsatisfactory service, employees in this class of positions will advance, without further examination, to AssistantCivil Engineer, with a salary of $52,586 per annum. The second year of probationary service will be served inthis higher title. 6 "HOW TO QUALIFY: You are responsible for determining whether or not you meet the qualification requirementsfor this examination prior to submitting your application. If you are marked "Not Qualified," your applicationfee will not be refunded and you will not receive a score. For the education requirements listed below, you musthave a grade point average of at least out of or its equivalent transcript average of at least 70% basedon the grades for completed courses through the first semester of the senior Requirement:A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university. A degree in any otherengineering area or in civil engineering technology is not acceptable. The education requirement must have been met between December 1, 2012 and June 30, 2016. The college or university must be accredited by regional, national, professional, or specialized agenciesrecognized as accrediting bodies by the Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher EducationAccreditation (CHEA).

7 If you were educated outside the United States, you must have your foreign education evaluated to determineits equivalence to education obtained in the United States. This is REQUIRED only if you need credit for yourforeign education in this must clearly specify in detail all of your relevant education and experience on your Education andExperience Test and submit it by the end of the Application Period. The education rating will be based on the gradesfor completed courses through the first semester of the senior year. Your grade point average through the first semester of the senior yearmust be clearly stated on your Education and Experience Test under section on the line with the ExactTitle of Degree.
