EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE TEST FOREIGN EDUCATION EVALUATION GUIDE (IF APPLICABLE)YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR READING THIS NOTICE IN ITS ENTIRETYBEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR THE JOB INVOLVES: Computer Service Technicians, under supervision, with some latitude forindependent initiative and judgment, perform routine service functions in maintaining, troubleshooting andrepairing computers, computer peripheral equipment and/or networking technology equipment; as well assupervise personnel performing routine repair or maintenance functions in order to maintain efficientfunctioning of computer operations and minimize downtime in the case of system failure.

This guide gives important information about requesting analternate test date because of religious observance or a special test accommodation for disability, claimingVeterans' or Legacy credit, and notifying DCAS of a change in your mailing address. Follow all instructionson the Special Circumstances Guide that pertain to you when you complete your "Application for Examination."HOW TO QUALIFY: You may be given the test before we verify your qualifications. You are responsible fordetermining whether or not you meet the qualification requirements for this examination prior to submittingyour application.

6 If you are marked "Not Qualified," your application fee will not be refunded and you will notreceive a and Experience four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and one year of satisfactory, full-timeexperience in computer maintenance and repair; four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and graduation from a certified technicaltraining program in computer maintenance and repair; satisfactory combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to 1 or 2 of the type described in 1 above may be substituted for high school on the basis of oneyear of experience for each year of high school. However, all candidates must have either one year ofthe type of experience described in 1 above, or graduation from a certified technical training programas described in 2 education requirement must be met by January 31, 2015.

7 The experience requirement must be met bythe last day of the Application Period (January 27, 2015).The high school diploma or its educational equivalent must be approved by a State's DEPARTMENT of Educationor a recognized accrediting you were educated outside the United States, you must have your foreign education evaluated to determineits equivalence to education obtained in the United States. This is REQUIRED only if you need credit for yourforeign education in this must clearly specify in detail all of your relevant education and experience on your Education andExperience Test and submit it by the end of the application period. You will not receive credit for educationwhich you obtain after January 31, 2015 or experience which you obtain after the end of the application period,nor will you be permitted to submit new or additional information about your education and experience oncethe application period has ended.

8 Driver License Requirement: By the time you are appointed to this position, you must have a motor vehicledriver license valid in the State of New York. If you have moving violations, license suspensions or an accidentrecord, you may be disqualified. 10 You musthave one of these services submit its evaluation of your foreign education directly to the Departmentof CITYWIDE Administrative Services no later than eight weeks from the last date for applying for No. 5018 - Page 3 THE TEST: The multiple-choice test may be given at a computer terminal or in paper and pencil format. You willbe informed of the format on your Admission Notice. Your score on this test will be used to determine yourplace on an eligible list.
