8 We include a small amount of information about some of these other families, below and throughout this Section Caution -- this material is FOR INTEREST ONLY, as we have not verified much of it. We hope readers will find this material interesting, and perhaps useful as a starting point for further Some information about the SHARPE family --(referenced on page 11a-1) Sherp may have been born about 1482 and may have had son RICHARD . William died 5 Nov 1530, age about 48. Note: some of the genealogies we have seen trace these early families to the 13th and 14th centuries, but we haven't found supporting RICHARD Sharpe may have been born about 1510, and may have had son RICHARD Sharpe may have been born (or baptized) about 1558. He married Jane [Sharpe] and may have had son William Sharpe , baptized 31 Jan 1588/89 Great Gonerby, lincolnshire , married Elizabeth Coney , below.

9 He may have died about 1615, age perhaps about 27. i. Elizabeth Sharpe , born Basingthorpe, lincolnshire , was christened 24 Feb 1612. She married RICHARD Isaacke , page Some information about the CONEY family --(referenced on page 11a-1)Note: Some say RICHARD Coney was descended from William Conny, born 1324. Many of the genealogies on the Internet trace lineages even earlier than those we show. We include this material here FOR INFORMATION William Coney was born about 1465. He died about 1509, age about 44. A. RICHARD Coney was born about 1500. He died 12 Apr 1545, age about Sir Thomas Coney, Knight of Basingthorpe, born about 1529, married Alice Leigh . She was probably born about 1540. He died 15 Oct 1611, age about 82. She probably died about 1621, age about 81. THE LEIGH FAMILY -- Alice's father was probably Sir Thomas Leigh, born about 1509, said to be Lord Mayor of London.

10 He died 17 Nov 1572, age about 63. Alice's mother was probably Alice Barker ,18 born about 1525. She died about 1600, age about Sir Thomas Coney II , Knight of Basingthorpe, born about 1561, married Anne Upton and married Elizabeth Patten. It's not known which wife was Elizabeth Coney's mother -- probably Anne, possibly Elizabeth. He inherited the manor of Basingthorpe (sometimes spelled Bassingthorpe), and they lived in Basingthorpe Hall. We have seen a picture of the house, now smaller than it was originally but still i. Sir Sutton Coney's name was carried on by his nephew and grand-nephews. It's not known which of Sir Thomas' wives was his mother. We think her family must have been connected with the Sutton family, but haven't yet found any real Elizabeth Coney , born about 1592 South Stoke, lincolnshire , married William Sharpe , above.
