7 The coordinating Staff functions of intell-igence (G2), operations (G3), and logistics (G4), are decomposed into tasks and tasks are evaluated as to importance to the decision making process, and as to ameni-bility to the application of advanced information processing, including the use of artificialintelligence techniques. Based upon army experts' advice, and upon the professional judge-ment of the authors, functional tasks which were considered to have high priority for humanperformance enhancement were Selected and put in order of priority.

8 The top six prioritytasks were further decomposed into subtasks to better identify opportunities for humanperformance enhancement. The six Staff tasks for early human performance enhancement are:analyzing tactical courses of action, analyzing battlefield areas, analyzing tactical capa-bilities, evaluating the enemy threat, analyzng logistic capabilities, and developingtactical courses of action. <,.. , C ; )20.
