The Most Reverend Gerald R. Barnes, Bishop of the Diocese of San Bernardino , wishes to honor one student from among our Catholic Partner Schools by sponsoring the Bishop s Scholarship. The Bishop s Scholarship is a four-year merit-based scholarship, awarded to a deserving eighth-grade student matriculating from one of the San Bernardino Diocese Partner Elementary Schools to Xavier College Preparatory High School or St. Jeanne de Lestonnac High School for the Fall of 2018. The student selected to attend Xavier College Preparatory High School or St.

2 Jeanne de Lestonnac High School will receive a 50% scholarship, not to exceed $5, The balance of the tuition owed is the responsibility of the student s parents. If the need arises, Xavier and St. Jeanne policies require the student to apply for financial assistance to account for the balance of the annual tuition. This determination is based on the policies set forth by the trustees of Xavier College Preparatory High School and St. Jeanne de Lestonnac High School and may or may not provide for the balance of the tuition. Please find enclosed the details of the scholarship, along with instructions on how to apply. Applications and portfolios must be submitted on time. Please note that the application and portfolio submission deadline is February 16, 2018. The Bishop s Scholarship is the most generous scholarship available to a Partner School student. We would very much like to see as many students as possible be considered for the scholarship, so please encourage your student to begin the application process immediately.
