8 39013 ASBESTOS ABATEMENT SAFETY SUPPLIES PAGE 3 (CENTRAL OFFICE) DETAILED SPECIFICATIONS SCOPE: This specification will describe the minimum requirements for the various asbestos abatement safety supplies as listed in the Invitation for bids for delivery statewide to NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, Division of Industries (Corcraft). GENERAL: The various asbestos abatement safety supplies will consist of all items considered to fall under the specialty listed category for each product area, which are listed below: Chemicals Lead Removal Equipment Containment/Spills Facility Maintenance Safety Products Hand Tools Protective Wear Respiratory Protection Hand Protection Absorbents/Spill Control All asbestos abatement safety supplies shall comply with applicable safety standards.

9 Some of the required standards are, but not limited to: New York State Department of Labor (Asbestos, 12 NYCRR Part 56); United States Environmental Protection Agency (NESHAP, 40 CFR Part 61); Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Worker Protection, OSHA 29 CFR ); and United States Department of Transportation (DOT HM-181). Various safety supplies are indicated in LOT I, categorized by Item Number; to include Chemicals, Lead Removal, Equipment, Containment/Spills, Facility Maintenance, Safety Products, Hand Tools, Protective Wear, Respiratory Protection and Hand Protection. 10 In the event that new products are offered during the contract period, the winning bidder should be prepared to offer all asbestos abatement safety supplies that are listed in the price list of the manufacturer, in each of the item categories and shall offer any additional products that may be manufactured or perfected and sold by the contractor during the life of the contract at comparable discounts. Please Note: One award will be made to one bidder for entire Lot. For all Items, bidders must supply all information as required, or their bid maybe rejected. Bidders are required to quote a single percentage discount (no chain discounts) from the tendered manufacturer's latest published price schedule or bidder s published catalog prices.
